I just read his Rivals profile and he is listed as weighing 395 pounds??? Is that accurate???
Yeah very close to that or 380 at the least. Will be real nice to get him to take on constant double teams and let our lbs flow to the ball.
People are gonna hate on the kids weight, it's the easy thing to do but when your that big, with good height, bench over 400, squat over 700, have quick feet, really the only thing stopping him would be motivation. If he can get help with moving the weight in a positive direction and manage it constantly (that's what college is for not high school) he could be really damn good. Iowa has never had a d -tackle this big and athletic and I'm really excited to see what Juan can do in the future. Iowa has produced some quality NFL d- tackles (mr. Daniels most notably) and all of them were projects or "Iowa made players" who were transformed by the system. This kid already has the physical piece now all he needs to do is learn, work hard, and get after it. I can't remember the last 4* d tackle we had come into the program.
Perhaps the evaluators feel he's getting to heavy as well.He got downgraded to a 3 star as well
Agree with this. I'll believe it when I see it.He will need to remake his body in college like Carl Davis. Harris will be a developmental player.

Juan was probably crunching too many kids on the opposing team. What's the story on him? How did he end up in West Union? Why did he only play part of North Fayette's football season (injury?)?

Those drills don't quite seem fair for OL. With no helmet, makes it more difficult to take on a DL
Especially with a guy Harris' size, stopping a bull rush without pads is pretty intimidating. If any of those O linemen drop their butt like they should, he likely falls over them and that would hurt to say the least. Those drills don't quite seem fair for OL. Mitch King was a great exception to this idea.Really like our defense when we have oversized DTs. You saw a few years there where we were a little undersized and it really hurts our D as a whole.
