Time To Get a Transfer QB

At Kinnock west on black Friday is a 100% win. Debbie hasn't beat us in stinking Lincoln since overtime in 2014.

Weird coincidence, Debbie hasn't won in overtime since. Hasn't even had a first down in overtime.

Maybe we broke that for you too?
OK what about the other wins? Your Barney BadAss stuff is kind of weak. So try just not doing that.

Not in portal yet, but if IU lands Mendoza from Cal, who’s younger brother is IU’s 3rd or 4th string true qb already or, Malik Murphy from Duke, I won’t be surprised if Tayven Jackson, a former 4* ends up in the portal. Also, Tyler Cherry, who coincidentally, succeeded Jackson as QB at 6A Indy powerhouse Center Grove HS, may also jump in.

While Jackson’s body of work isn’t a large sample size, he is a very good athlete and likely would have started a lot of places had not Rourke come in and won the job. Might potentially be a fit for Iowa.

It has nothing to do with that. Have you objectively looked at your schedule next year? How about name your 100% for sure wins.
LOL. You guys deserve everything you will have coming to you. The Boss is singing Glory Days just for your fans.

We know one of the wins for sure!

I think 7 outside chance at 8.
Yeah, outside of some miracle happening between now and next fall, I'd cap the Huskers at 7 - just looking at their schedule on paper. I can be realistic when talking about my team. I understand that it's OK to be a fan and be optimistic but if Iowa won 8 with the 2024 schedule, winning more than that next year (ON PAPER) is going to be a bit tougher.

ISU, MSU, USC, Debbie will all be toss up games could go either way.
Easy:
Albany: W
ISU: W
UMASS: W
Rutgers: W
Indy: W
Wisky: W
PSU:L
Minn: W
Oregon: L
USC:L
MSU: L
Debbie: W
That's pretty objectively reasonable. I would not have Indiana as a tossup though. There is no reason to believe that their HC is not going to be able to load up again. I'm not just saying that about Iowa playing them either. They're top 4 in the B10 if they keep doing what they did this year, and I wouldn't expect Nebraska to win that game either.

Indiana will be replacing a huge roster chunk, not to mention a qb. They will take a big step back. Mel Tucker did the same thing.

Not if they continue to make good decisions in the portal.

Brand new head coach and a TON of new players and look how their 2024 ended up playing out. You never know when you're talking about coaches that aren't all in on the loyalty program.

I'm not counting them out. Nothing is more terrifying than watching a team who hadn't won 9 games in a season in like 60 years just pick your team apart lol.

why does every QB Iowa recruits seem to be 6'3-6'4 215-230lbs & cant run? Some could argue that the staff really messed up not putting Dejean at that position like a Kyler Murray type.

Cooper Dejean completed 199-of-331 pass attempts for 3,447 yards and 35 touchdowns as a senior, with nine interceptions… also rushed 131 times for 1,235 yards and 24 touchdowns way 2 SEXY

Sure, but Cooper is already one of the best defensive backs in NFL

Well no shit, but which program has continued to live in the portal and maintained? Colorado was better this year, they certainly weren’t the first year of Deion. Mel Tucker?

It just doesn't make sense that you'd say "They will take a huge step back" b/c they'll need to "replace a huge roster chunk."

And what would be a "huge step back" in your mind considering they were 3-9 in 2023? Even if they're nowhere close to 11-1, IU's trajectory will still be headed in the right direction...Unless they're right back to something like 3-9.

The argument is that they will not be anywhere near the team they are now. This is in the context of them beating Iowa next year. They will have one returning WR, LT, RG (That is all that will return for offense). On defense they will have WLB, LCB, FS, RCB. So a total of 7 returning players on both sides of the ball, while replacing Rourke....I don't know why google is so difficult for some of you.

Ok. 7 of the same guys going into next season.

How many of Indiana's starters from 2023 ALSO started under Cignetti in 2024?

What is difficult to understand, there are only 7 returning starters from probably their best season ever. He was able to crean 39 guys while brining in 31, 13 of which were from JMU, and I am not looking at their depth chart to see which ones made an impact. It truly doesn't matter. They will take a step back from this years success next year. If you are so inclined to continue with this, I am open to a wager to the children's hospital.

Lol. Ok I get what your point is. And I understand I'm being fairly difficult here.....

....But, considering the overhaul they had from '23 to '24 and the success that followed, you have NO idea if Indiana will "take a huge step back."

Cignetti is a great coach, I will hands down make that statement, but with what they are losing, it is going to be a massive uphill battle to maintain with their level of recruiting. They absolutely struck lightning in a bottle with Rourke. To have a QB go a (70.4%) for 2,827 yards, 27 touchdowns and four interceptions. Those are ridiculous stats.

To be fair, Lainez, Resar and Sullivan can all run, but prior to them your point stands.

Coop was a very rare talent and could have been used at multiple positions. Would have been fun to see him with the ball in his hands more though.

And not win any championships.

It's an uphill battle for every program in the country to maintain 11-win seasons.

An 8-4 or 7-5 season for IU next year would likely be very well received, as it should be, considering their history of crap.

While certainly unlikely to duplicate, or maybe even come close to the best record in school history like this year, the program is certainly on a roll. NIL funds, assistant coaches salary pool, attendance and national attention (especially from SEC haters) are all on the rise.

As for personnel, the guy currently starting at LG wasn’t doing so until game 10. He’s a back-up from JMU and done after this year, but the guy who started games 1-9, a transfer from Wisky, will be back. So, both starting guards and the LT are back. As for only 1 WR, yes, Sarratt, but Omar Cooper (27 catches/6 TDs), who’d start most places, is back too. EJ Williams, a former 5*, from Clemson, who sat since mid-season due to injury and just came back from the portal is back too. Pretty sure they’ll pull in a pretty good qb, hopefully Mendoza from Cal (younger brother is already on the team), or Murphy from Duke.

The D-Line, which has been tremendous, will be biggest need in the portal, followed by Safeties. Hope to make my first trip ever to historic Kinnick Stadium for the game. Glad it’s in September, not November.

Good luck at the bowl game!!

As long as Debbie is on the schedule, we have a win. At this point we can just pencil it in. Go back to your site and stop trolling ours.
