So you’re not excited about Seamus Berkshire IV??I think Iowa needs to broaden it's criteria a little bit. Restricting your QB's to include only those individuals with surnames from the United Kingdom doesn't make much sense to me.

Why don't you troll back over to your loser Nebraska board. No talented qb will sign up for a possible 2-10 team.
You seen Iowa's schedule for 2025? I was thinking 4 wins, and then some toss-ups.2-10?!?!
Yup, I think we will be shopping at Walmart…😢I have a feeling any high profile QB is going to want more cash than Swarm has.
Agreed - it seems like every Spring the Iowa media pundits hype our WR Room as being ‘one that could surprise’….yet, it never does. We are definitely in a vicious cycle of crappy QBs, OL (save the this season), and below average WRs. Luckily we know how to recruit RBs and TEs…😉unless we sore up the pass protection and WR room it wouldn't matter if Josh Allen was the QB
What team meets your criteria? And met it for the last ten years? I'll hang up and listen. That’s the point, some teams only need a patch. Where do you start with this mess? They win 8-ish a year, very rarely 10. They were the beneficiary of playing in B1G West and enjoyed a VERY favorable schedule this year. Non-conference SOS is a joke. You are happy with a 127-7 score and 0-4 finish vs ranked opponents? If so, keep patching because this team isn’t even in the conversation for league or national titles. We are playing volleyball to the football of contenders. Might as well be Purdue.
You misspelled Debbie. You have had 8 losing seasons in a row. Your bowl may make it 9.You seen Iowa's schedule for 2025? I was thinking 4 wins, and then some toss-ups.
So go root for Georgia or Alabama, Michigan, tOSU.... whatever. But Iowa is not a blue blood program with the deep pockets. Maybe the 85 roster limits will even teams out. That’s the point, some teams only need a patch. Where do you start with this mess? They win 8-ish a year, very rarely 10. I think it has to come back to good ol strong evaluations.I have a feeling any high profile QB is going to want more cash than Swarm has.
I'd say the Iowa pass protection and WR room are already sore enough ...... to watch on gamedays, at least.unless we sore up the pass protection and WR room it wouldn't matter if Josh Allen was the QB
Actually you're thinking of Illinois.Miller moss is between Missouri and Louisville
We're talking about Iowa's schedule. I came to the same conclusion for Nebraska as well, to be fair. You misspelled Debbie. You have had 8 losing seasons in a row. Your bowl may make it 9.
We've had tough schedules before and missed one bowl game in the last 23 years.
To be fair, your prediction of 4 wins for iowa is ridiculous. we rarely win less than 8 games. No reason for 2025 to be different. We're talking about Iowa's schedule. I came to the same conclusion for Nebraska as well, to be fair.
I respect the analogy however, with the existing HC contract debt, IOWA would need private equity money to step-in as well.I once worked for a company that developed a start of the art procure to pay software - best in the business. As the system became outdated. we threw cosmetic changes, patches and other perceived upgrades at an antiquated system. When we were purchased by private equity, they didn’t know where to begin fixing this problem. In the end, the solution was to completely gut the system and start anew with a new system. It worked. That’s where Iowa football is: a patch at QB, patch at OL, patch at a coordinator, on and on and on. The system is broken. Iowa needs to reboot and start over.
Sure, but I don't think Curtisj is gonna like it.So you’re not excited about Seamus Berkshire IV??
FIFY (with my preferred response)Next year's schedule is exactly why a competitive QB would want to come.
"Why do you rob banks?"
"Because that's where the money is"."Because nobody told me not to."
That elusive Pinstripe Bowl bid has someone a little snippy....You seen Iowa's schedule for 2025? I was thinking 4 wins, and then some toss-ups.
No talented qb will sign up for a possible 2-10 team.
Or... head exploding from the confusion that... what?? we are going to a what?? a bowl game?? what is that? That elusive Pinstripe Bowl bid has someone a little snippy....
2-10?!?!
It has nothing to do with that. Have you objectively looked at your schedule next year? How about name your 100% for sure wins. That elusive Pinstripe Bowl bid has someone a little snippy....
I'm not sure Lester deserves credit for Stratton. He was at Colo St where an ex Hawkeye is head coach. He probably recommended him to Iowa.I think it has to come back to good ol strong evaluations.
Look at Raiola. Still relatively early, but he definitely didn’t earn his quarter million or whatever it divided out to be, this year.
Lester went out and in a few weeks found Jackson Stratton by happenstance. He can throw a little bit and run too. Give Lester a full offseason & I am confident we will be pleased with what he finds.
The single greatest line I’ve ever read on this site was when he called our basketball team a charcuterie board, because we’re a bunch of crackers on hardwood.Sure, but I don't think Curtisj is gonna like it.
I'm not sure Stratton will even be on the team next year, so....I'm not sure Lester deserves credit for Stratton. He was at Colo St where an ex Hawkeye is head coach. He probably recommended him to Iowa.
Same as Nebraska - none. Of course, Iowa has a history of putting together winning seasons for the past decade, unlike Nebraska. It has nothing to do with that. Have you objectively looked at your schedule next year? How about name your 100% for sure wins.

Debbie sucks.
Way optimistic.I'll bite.
Albany and UMass are guaranteed wins.
@ ISU - We haven't lost at Jack Trice since 2011. Until they show they can beat us there, I'll call that a W.
Home vs Indiana - They are a 1 year wonder, similar to Mich St under Tucker. They lose a ton. W.
Home vs MSU - When's the last time we lost to MSU at home? 2013? They took it to us at their place, we'll return the favor. W.
Home vs Minn - It took a BS ref call to steal a W from us the last time at Kinnick. Before that, we'd beaten them like 10 straight. W.
Home vs Oregon - Oregon doesn't play well in the central time zone. A shitty Wisconsin team damn near beat them. But I'll call L.
Home vs PSU - We are 6-4 against PSU at home under Kirk and all 10 of those games we were underdogs. W.
@ Neb - Again, until they prove they can beat us in Lincoln, I'm taking a W.
@ Rutgers - W
@ USC - They stink, but we stink worse playing on the west coast. L.
@ Wisc - They stink. W.
I've got 10-2. 😀
Of course it is. That's why fan is short for fanatic. 😀Way optimistic.
I'm not going to list out where I saw wins & losses, but to be fair, I saw like 4 "gimme" games for Nebraska on our schedule too. Iowa's schedule is a bit tougher (on paper) than 2024 (in reality) though. So we'll see how it all shakes out.I'll bite.

I like your optimism. I think 6-8 wins is more likely, but one thing we know is that Kirk's teams usually perform better when they are counted out. So while the schedule is tougher, I wouldn't be surprised to see Iowa top a lot of folks' expectations.I'll bite.

You guys never learn! We need a portal HC!!Former 4 star Devin Brown has announced he is leaving Ohio State. I expect them to lose former 5 star Air Noland as well. Both guys have rockets and are mobile. Plus say what you want about Ryan Day, but guys like Joe Burrow, Quinn Ewers and Kyle McCord have worked out pretty well after leaving his system.
Will Ferentz or more importantly the donors put up money to get a high end talent at QB? No and yes. The donors would likely do it if Ferentz green lit it. I doubt Ferentz wants a guy that he may deem "high profile" risk takers.
Consider every game in November will be a W. It's in Iowa's DNA.I like your optimism. At Kinnock west on black Friday is a 100% win. Debbie hasn't beat us in stinking Lincoln since overtime in 2014.It has nothing to do with that. Have you objectively looked at your schedule next year? How about name your 100% for sure wins.
