Iowa's LOI's are in. Some they are going to hold off on announcing until kids can have their ceremonies.
Currently, Iowa is above Wisconsin in average rating on 247 composite (86.85 to 86.38) and Rivals (3.18 to 3.05). Doesn't mean much, but impressive class by the rankings for our staff.I'm guessing 7th overall, 3rd in the west. Wiscy is going to beat us and MN will be us with number of players but we will beat them with average star rating.
Why are you always so negative? This is a great day to be a Hawkeye and all you do is whine? Sucks to be you my friend. This is a very nice recruiting class and we are only in the “middle” because of our small class. Any fan of the Hawks should be enjoying this day!You prob right.
Funny how excited we're all getting to land right in the middle.
I guess it's always been that way.
And always will be.

Bump - Wasn't Drunk, where did you see this?Riley Moss apparently signed today too. Where did the info come from that he is not a greyshirt anymore?
Depend on what is important to you. If you go by total points we lose to Wisconsin and Minnesota based on sheer volume of recruits. If you look at the average stars I think we beat them both. Average stars on rivals I believe we are in the top 25. Overall points we are closer to 40th.I'm guessing 7th overall, 3rd in the west. 5-ish then?I wonder how many more guys they will target for February?
Don't think so, Blair mentioned all expected LOI's are in. Btw, Moss' film is excellent, kid is physical and loves contact. Plug in a few good LB's and this Iowa will be flat out NASTY for the foreseeable future!Moss went from gray shirt to full ride. Hope that doesn't mean anything about Brents or Johnson.
So Brents and Johnson signed today so they are in, but are waiting to have a ceremony for February? And is Riley Moss on scholarship, or is he still a grey shirt?
Full ride for Moss, reporting this summer. So Brents and Johnson signed today so they are in, but are waiting to have a ceremony for February? And is Riley Moss on scholarship, or is he still a grey shirt?
I think he is still a greyshirt.
Was I right about Julius Brents and DJ Johnson, though?Full ride for Moss. Check that, read it wrong....not so sure now, just saw Swarm '18 on his twitter.
Sounds like Brents and DJ both in per Blair. Was I right about Julius Brents and DJ Johnson, though?
Landof10 says '18 signee..hmmmmMoss still gets a full ride with greyshirt and still signs LOI. He just starts later. I haven't seen anything that really proves things have changed with him.
AwesomeSounds like Brents and DJ both in per Blair.
recruiting violation to talk about a kid by name before an LOI is signed(A tell will be if any of the coaches talk about them, my understanding is they cannot say the recruits name until they have a LoI.)
I don't know how points work, but I assume points per player would be a much better comparison than stars per player.Depend on what is important to you. yeah. No different than usual. vandeberg signed too. Sounds like he may join the team as a walk on in the Summer and Fall and then would be on scholarship after that or sooner depending on transfer etc.Landof10 says '18 signee..hmmmm

Gotcha, good point, forgot about Meerkat although with him a ride opened up in July-ish and he reported as a full scholly player in camp IIRC. Tough to keep up with all this! What advantage does a pref walk on have vs. traditional walk-on? Earlier camp time? Training table?yeah. No different than usual. vandeberg signed too. Is he recruited for DB? Did we really need to add him?Full ride for Moss, reporting this summer.
I might be wrong, but I don't believe they are limited anymore on most of those things. Unless that was just basketball or something.Gotcha, good point, forgot about Meerkat although with him a ride opened up in July-ish and he reported as a full scholly player in camp IIRC.
