Another season is upon us. Will 2018 be the year the Hawks build upon the successes of 2017 and take another step forward to challenge for the Big Ten West? Or will graduation, injury, suspensions, etc. take their toll and pull the rug out from under the season practically before it begins? The only way to know is to play the games. And as KF is fond of saying, when Iowa has its best years, usually there are a few great stories that emerge from unexpected sources. So here’s a list of the likely suspects whose stories may make or break Iowa Football 2018.

So as to not muck up the original post, here's how the BOAF works, for those of you who don't know or maybe just forgot.

BOAF stands for Birds of a Feather. It's a "six degrees of Kevin Bacon" type of game. The list consists of a bunch of names that go in a specific order. Most of the names follow each other based on some obvious commonality such as spelling or pronunciation (i.e. Bob Smith - Bob Duncan - Duncan Hines...etc.)
But then occasionally along comes a name that has nothing obvious in common with the name above it. HOWEVER, there is something connecting them...some deep, hidden connection...and those are marked with an (*).

The (*) are the ones you have to figure out. But there's a catch. While there may be numerous valid connections between the (*) names and the ones above them, there is only one RIGHT answer. And that is whatever was in Ol' Doodle's noggin when the list was constructed.

Doodle will do his best to monitor the thread and post when people come up with the correct responses.

Oh, and finally (and perhaps most importantly), the BOAF must be completed with all the right answers by no later than kickoff of Saturday's game in order to maximize the BOAF karma points for the Hawks.

Hints will begin on Friday for any (*) that remain unsolved.

Okay......GO!
