2018 Season-Opening BOAF

THE BOAF IS BACKKKK BABY! Awesome shit Doodle

Another season is upon us. Will 2018 be the year the Hawks build upon the successes of 2017 and take another step forward to challenge for the Big Ten West? Or will graduation, injury, suspensions, etc. take their toll and pull the rug out from under the season practically before it begins? The only way to know is to play the games. And as KF is fond of saying, when Iowa has its best years, usually there are a few great stories that emerge from unexpected sources. or......surely it's not:

Main character of the Nickelodeon show "Sam & Cat", played by Ariana Grande, who typically wore Converse Lo Top Chuck Taylor All Stars on the show.

Some great guesses, especially on the Chuck Yeager - Cat Valentine link. But alas, it is Friday and there are still 3 remaining. Ol' Doodle is heading out to the Great Minnesota Get-Together today, so Doodle won't be able to follow up too often during the day....but here are the first set of clues.

Jack Koerner - James Elliott
Clue 1: For most people it comes in second to cake

Chuck Yeager - Cat Valentine
Clue 1: Your work probably doesnn't give you this day off

Bobby Boucher - Helen Ball
Clue 1: No guns...usually

William Henry Dethlef Koerner painted the October 1904 cover of The Pilgrim magazine. James Elliott is a co-founder of Pizza Pilgrims chain of restaurants

I had glanced over both of the James Elliott - nursery rhymes guy and Helen Ball - London Metro Police answers before, thinking there had to be something there, but couldn't find the connections. The Cat Valentine one was never getting solved without a clue.
