I think Princeton home or away as well.I’m guessing we see a trip to West Point this year
Yup, Army has released their schedule already. They'll also be in Iowa for the Soldier Salute TourneyI’m guessing we see a trip to West Point this year
Thank godPrinceton released their schedule already and Iowa isn't listed.
Given that Sacred Heart is in Fairfield, CT, and has barely had any NCAA qualifiers, one asks: Why is Iowa going to Albany to wrestle SH?Hawks wrestle Sacred Heart on 18 Nov in Albany.

They are another D1 with a Women’s wrestling program. Could be to set up a home & home for the benefit of the women’s team next year?Given that Sacred Heart is in Fairfield, CT, and has barely had any NCAA qualifiers, one asks: Why is Iowa going to Albany to wrestle SH?

Not an Iowa fan or familiar with the program, I take it?
Scheduling is odd. Minnesota is the only team on the schedule every year. WI, PU, And NE have been scheduled four straight years. MD and RU have not been scheduled since 18-19. Likely they wrestle both on the road this season. Also very likely MSU, MI and IU are on it as well. Throw in MN and at least two if not three of the remaining western schools but who knows. Just when you think there’s a pattern, there isn’t.Okie St, ISU and Michigan should be in Carver. I think we would have off years with PSU and Ohio St based on the scheduling formula but really hope we get to go to PSU. I recently read an article about some mid level eastern school counting down the days til Hawks come to wrestle them but cant recall who that was. It seems like we havent wrestled Maryland in awhile also. We should be going to Nebraska and Minnesota, I think we wrestle them every year. And of course the Hawkeye Open, hope we send some to Southern Scuffle again. These are like you asked just guesses but cant wait to get this year going.
Albany? They are another D1 with a Women’s wrestling program. Could be to set up a home & home for the benefit of the women’s team next year?
I don’t know why, but it was announced earlier this year. I’m excited because my daughter lives there and it’s only a 7-hour drive.Albany?
They changed the formula for 2021-22, and are sticking with that same formula for 2022-23. Basically, the conference is split up into East and West Divisions (same divisions as football), with each team having two crossover duals based on strength (with one exception: Purdue absolutely HAS to wrestle Indiana every year, no ifs, ands, or buts). Whatever formula was in place prior to 2020 (remember, 2020-21 was a totally weird year, thanks to everybody's favorite pathogen) no longer applies.Scheduling is odd. Imagine coming on here trying to dunk on people and falling on your face because you don’t know what you’re talking about.Given that Sacred Heart is in Fairfield, CT, and has barely had any NCAA qualifiers, one asks: Why is Iowa going to Albany to wrestle SH?
So we have Neb, Minn, Wis, Ill, NW, Purdue every year and if based on strength, we will have PSU and either OSU or Mich every year? They changed the formula for 2021-22, and are sticking with that same formula for 2022-23. They were already heading to NY to wrestle Army. I'd guess it was easier to wrestle in Albany rather than head to CTAlbany?
My bad. I read this as Sacred Heart was the opponent.Albany?
Army West Point Thursday, Sacred Heart Friday. My bad. I read this as Sacred Heart was the opponent.
A fine contribution, thanks. Who was trying to "dunk on people" (whatever that means)?Imagine coming on here trying to dunk on people and falling on your face because you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Half again as far from West Point to Albany as it is to Fairfield, and you end up much further from a major airport. They were already heading to NY to wrestle Army. I'd guess it was easier to wrestle in Albany rather than head to CT
Someone at UTC said Iowa was coming to Chattanooga in December.Any guesses on what the schedule will look like?
For someone who doesn't know what I'm talking about, I do know that the University of Pennsylvania will be at Iowa on 11/26. Go figure.Imagine coming on here trying to dunk on people and falling on your face because you don’t know what you’re talking about.
We need to get Oklahoma back on the schedule.
One of the teams on the list that either has a winning series record, or won their last dual against us however long ago, and that I'd like to rectify..........
Just messing with you. OU has been down so long I'm guessing they don't want anything to do with scheduling Iowa. One of the teams on the list that either has a winning series record, or won their last dual against us however long ago, and that I'd like to rectify..........
That's who.

Apparently you’re not reel familiar with the Hawks program, then? I’m pretty sure that’s what Spooner was asking.I am familiar with the program, and I have a friend whose sons both attended SHU. My son went on a recruiting trip to SHU. I have no idea why Iowa is wrestling SHU in Albany. Or where in Albany they might be wrestling. Based on the responses to the question, it doesn’t seem anyone here does, or the question would have been answered.

Sheesh… Put down the bong for a minute, Artie…
Iowa has a history of taking the team to wrestle small programs in the middle of nowhere in order to help grow the sport…It would be great if someone answered the question, though.
I'm sure all 30 fans in the stands will be in awe when the hawks roll inIowa has a history of taking the team to wrestle small programs in the middle of nowhere in order to help grow the sport…
Fwiw, last year’s dual versus Penn State sold out (1,350) in Manheim, PA.I'm sure all 30 fans in the stands will be in awe when the hawks roll in
Fan-tastic! Three new fans would potentially mean a 10% increase in wrestling revenue for that small school.I'm sure all 30 fans in the stands will be in awe when the hawks roll in
