2023 Iowa Morel Mushroom Thread

Found a just shy of 5# in NE Iowa Sunday.

I went out early last week and found ~50 or 60 mostly small grays. Had enough to Sautee on steaks and a batch of dipped and fried. It was rando's along my walk, and then the rest around 1 tree.

Where in NE Iowa?

I have looked north of CF in Black Hawk county with no luck. I have some private ground (x in laws) where I found a bunch in Bremer county. Found a ton under a maple that had lightning damage. Heading back up there tonight.

Found another 1-2# tonight. Oddly enough, I’m finding many under damaged maples.
