2025 recruiting thread

He looks darn good in black and gold.

Edit: Looks like he did the old hat switcheroo. Posting a picture with a Hawk hat the day before and then committing to UCF. FWIW, Gus Malzahn is a snake oil salesman.

We'll see how Christian's college career turns out. Saw UCF has a new defensive coaching staff.

So far we’ve missed out on all our offered running backs with the Rinehart recruit just committing to NC State.

Just announced for UCF, that one stings. Now I’m starting to worry about the class. Rumor is Smith is a Minnesota lean. Down to Smith, McCorkle and the kicker from our “big weekend” which looks like it’s swung back to ‘22 form after great success in ‘23. Looks like got 4 of 13 with 3 still pending.

**Not counting those who never made it because they committed to other schools before the 6/21 weekend.**

We did not have 13 uncommitted visitors on the 21st weekend. I have not heard anything about Smith leaning to Minny.

Herron, Bell, Richman, Allgeyer, Smith, Starzyk, Guerrier, Hudson, McCorkle, Fitzgibbon, Heath, Johnson, and Rinehart. Looks like Richman and Johnson committed before they made it to the big weekend. I know Littleton never made it.

So sure I guess technically they wouldn’t count against that number but that’s been my concern is we lose guys planning around that Iowa City block party because it’s later than a lot of visits.

4 out of 11 that made it and another at least 3 others that wouldn’t even wait for it. If they sweep the last 3 I think you could call 50% a success but that’s the minimum they should expect to hit on.

Splitting hairs, not a huge deal. I still haven't seen any interviews with Guerrier or McCorkle, so I question if they attended. Rinehart didn't visit either. It is risky to have the tailgater on the last weekend. I mentioned that in May.

With potential huge new breaking over the weekend, it would be great to see what people think this class will close out with. Outside of Iose, Smith is the other obvious target, that would put the hawks at 15 commits, but might be a big presumptive. On the flip side, Iowa can be in direct contact with Markway right now to bring him in as well.

So what’s th

So what’s the latest in this kid, talk was he flipped to Michigan and at least one site has him doing so. No updates since?
On3 posted a new prediction for him in September, I'd say given he is still an Iowa commit is a good thing. Never know with this crap though, similar to the loss of Herron. Worst case Iowa picks up Caden Buhr from Bettendorf. Kid has a boomstick for a leg.
