Thanks, from those who couldn’t watch. Scary that 5 minutes were so bad to almost erase 35 minutes of the best of the year.Kind of a perfect storm. Indiana finally started hitting shots. The fouls at the end added a ton of possessions. Some of Iowa's players couldn't really guard late because they would've fouled out.
The last 5 minutes of that game were a near disaster. It was as bad as Iowa has looked all year. But they also don't take away from the first 35 where Iowa looked as good as it has all year.
Like any girl has more than a six inch verticalSigh, Cinano just doesn't know how to block shots.
I don’t know the players, but Coach may think Monika is a dependable screener and foul shooter. Not sure who would be a dependable ball handler to sub in. This where we miss Megan Meyer. The referees definitely swallowed their whistles late, but that also happens in most games where a team is coming back, especially at home. Iowa has to be prepared for it, and has to take better care of the ball.
I think Monika played great for most of the game today, but I don't really see what she adds to those late game situations where Iowa was going to be fouled. Either sub O'Grady in for her defense and rebounding, or sub in another ball-handler. In those situations, Monika can't use any of her strengths and basically all of her weaknesses are exposed.
I think this worked out perfectly for Iowa. Hopefully Indiana left it all out on the court in the failed comeback attempt and in two days they don't have any more energy to play 40 minutes against Iowa. Iowa should push it relentlessly in the next game.
Going to need a nice and loud Carver crowd to help them out!I think this worked out perfectly for Iowa. Anyone have any news on the Nebraska situation with the associate head coach and Scoggins and the rumors about the ream?
