I think some is Fran but some is also the mental make up of our teams the last couple years. They must not be tough or think they can do it when the chips are down.

Wasn't there a Nebraska game in there...? Didn't we blow a 30 PT lead at Nebraska in 2012?

Iowa used a 3 man bench for a total of 28 minutes,while
Iowa State used a 2 man bench for a total of 24 minutes.

Bottom Line: Hawkeyes supposedly had a deeper bench,
but it made no difference in this game. Iowa ran out of gas
after the first half, and Iowa State simply went into another
gear.

You do realize similar statistics could be found about anywhere? Basketball is traditionally a game of runs with a lot of lead changes throughout. How stupid.

They ran out of gas or they played scared. My vote is the latter.

I haven't run the numbers but I bet Kirk fairs pretty well in a comparison on this issue.

The point isn't simply a run or a lead change, it's the amount of games where Iowa was outscored by greater than 10 points in the second half. I've compared to other top teams in the conference and Iowa is an outlier. For example, a comparable team, the 2014-15 Buckeyes had no losses where they led by more than 5 at half. Rather than criticize the post why don't you contribute data to support your comment?
