*****Indiana vs Iowa Game Thread*****

Our two starting posts have 3 rebounds each for the game.
IMO the centers to play should be AH and try the one on the bench that never plays then AOG. AOG may score a few points, but she struggles with all other aspects of the game.

During the last few minutes O’Grady, Affolter, Feurbach and Olson on the bench. Should have been that way most of the game. Jan likes to give participation trophies it seems. What are the assistant coaches contributing?

Stuelke looks lost but her athleticsm and experience should help I'm hoping.

The thing that is perplexing with Hannah is how she has lost the ability to convert underneath, It’s easy to say Caitlin is gone but Hannah had the ability to finish in traffic last year, This year she can’t finish and is getting shots blocked by equal size or smaller players.

20 years within the program, assistant coach at back to back finals teams, coached up some solid posts. Only thing that was lacking was HC experience, but plenty of assistant coaches promote into HC positions and do well.
It's evident that Jan doesn't know how to make the decisions that result in winning basketball. She seems like a good friend-type coach but not an actual coach coach.

They tried internal promotion thing but it backfired. Oh well. Start looking for a replacement come March/April.

Hannah biggest challenge is between her ears IMO. She doubts herself, does not appear to learn from her mistakes, and lacks intensity. I really do not think she will ever be any different.

*Trying to find the wins on the schedule. Looks pretty grim. Maybe NW, Wisconsin, and Rutgers? Will be pleasantly surprised if they find more than that. Look forward to the next time Iowa can make it back to the top 25. Hopefully next season.

*Stuelke has another year to play. Not sure how to feel about that. Iowa should try to bring in a better player at that position if they want to keep any momentum left from the two Final 4s. Not sure that will happen.

*Substitutions and length of the bench continues to be a Jensen problem. Way too hard to find a groove when you, and everyone else around you, can't get in a flow.

*Constant lapses on defense, and once again allowed a single player to go off.

*Probably too much to fix, but I think a lot of it reflects on the coaches' inability to identify 5 players to play together.

If current trend/play/coaching continues the rest of the season I agree. But, termination at end of the year will never happen at Iowa.

Uh no. She deserves way more than one year. This isn't the NFL. With the freshman and the class coming in next year the future is bright. I hope.

Some people can never make a decision based on facts in front of them because they cannot get beyond their emotions. Jensen may be one of those folks.

HS and AOG should not be on the floor together. Play 1 post. HS isn’t a 4 regardless of how much Jan thinks so.
Totally agree. This experiment has not worked. She cannot use her athleticism when the lane is clogged up and she can't shoot well enough from the outside to play the 4. How about playing up tempo for a stretch.

We’ve been playing 10 players. It’s time to move Syd, Addie, and Kylie to the bottom of that rotation.
Agree about Kylie and Addy, but not Syd.

She's lock down on D, can hit the 3, but her biggest skill is she's a slasher. But she can't slash with 2 posts and their defenders filling up the lane.
The same problem is hindering Lucy as well.

I'm all for Syd coming off the bench as a sparkplug, at least until she finds her shot again.
