I’ll admit I’m overly excited. For those of you who forgot one of Brian’s Offenses dropped 50 on OSU. Yes that same offense couldn’t manage 60 yards the very next game, but you take what you can get as a Hawk.
At the least, we got an O-line that truly can’t be any worse than they were last season. We got a new QB and TE from Michigan, a WR from OSU. We got a D that’s going to be exactly as scrappy as they were last season, if not more so.
I’m prepared to be let down. But man, we could have something special here too.

don't forget the 2019 Holiday Bowl 49-24 win over USC, that was a Brian coached offense. but give the Brian haters time as they will spin it to it was all Parker and Woods that won all those games and it was Brian and Kirk that lost those games.

I know you don't like being presented with facts but do you know in that Biff Ferentz masterpiece you chose to cite, the offense actually got outgained by the other team? 3 total turnovers forced by the Iowa defense including a defensive touchdown, and setting up a 6 yard TD drive for the offense. As well as a special teams touchdown. While that was one of the better games overall from your hero Brian, that was hardly an offensive blowout.

It's always around this time of year when I start getting fired up for football. With the Cubbies being terrible it's amplified. I am so hoping to eat crow when it comes to BF, because there is a lot of offensive talent that has been injected into this team. Let's not sleep on Kaleb Johnson... I thought that dude impressed last year behind one of the worst offensive lines I've seen at Iowa in KF's tenure.
If the line is up to par this year, I feel like they have the talent at the skill positions.

After last year, I'll settle for competent. I have very guarded optimism on the offensive side of the ball.
Defensively, at this point, Phil's defenses have been so consistently stellar I don't even concern myself with it.

Im getting excited now. BF, btw, told Cade they would be opening up the playbook this year. Not sure what that looks like but we are 77-3 or something close to that, in the last 80 games when we score 24 points or more. I'm hoping for 200 plus yards passing per game. I'm also hoping KJ and Patterson rack up 1700 yards on the ground this season. I think they will be 1 and 2 on the rb depth chart this year.
