He should be national coach of the year. No question in my mind.
Iowa has 1/10 of the talent of Michigan, Clemson, Alabama, etc and yet out works each and every team this year thua far. If KF doesnt win it for his job this year, he will never win. This team has a ton of heart anc great leadership. Truly special....
They just started giving t h e , award in the 70's, so Bo and Woody missed many chances to win
Definitely Big 10 and in my opinion National. How many times this year have we heard that we "don't pass the eye test", or " don't have any 5 star players".....
Think about this.
Four coaches ever have 3 B1G COY Hayden Fry, Bo Scembechler, Joe Paterno and KF.
KF will stand alone after he wins it this year. He will have more COY than any coach in the storied history of the B1G.
Then on top of it Hayden Fry will be tied for second. Iowa has been blesses the last 36 years.

I would disagree, but what Harbaugh has accomplished would win the award in just about any other season.
This. Considering where this program was at the end of last year and the steps that have been taken to right the ship, that's all coaching. He had to get the senior leaders to buy into the program and he did that in spades. As much as he had to take the brunt of the criticism over the previous 5 seasons, he gets the credit for this season as well.
Also, it's a lesson on contract negotiation for other coaches as well. Make sure your buy out is high enough that the University will have to take a serious hit if they fire you. Well, fire you for performance, not because you got caught banging a couple of cheerleaders in your office. I'm not sure if it was going to happen or not but Kirk's seat has never been hotter than it was after last season.
