4th Booster ups protection against Omicron

But how sustainable is the booster game?
(the answer is developing better vaccines, probably)

3 is doing a fantastic job against severe disease.

4-5 doses are what you probably got for lots of other childhood diseases

"Dozens" are what most people get over their lifetime in flu shots

So, not sure why this is so "new" to you

Not really a lot to improve on there...

Really?

Flu shots suggest otherwise
If we have a strategy in which we give boosters, let’s say every 4 months approximately, we will end up potentially having a problem with the immune response, and the immune response may end up not being as good as we would like it to be. So we should be careful in not overloading the immune system with repeated immunization,” Cavaleri added.

That sounds like pure speculation.
More speculation with this quote?

For example, the traditional hepatitis B vaccine is given as a three-dose series,” he explained. “The first two doses are given a month apart, and then you wait 6 months, or even later, you could wait 2 years. And then the immune system, when it’s stimulated by that third dose, will respond. But you don’t want to give that third dose before 6 months. It’s a little bit counterintuitive, but the immune system often needs some time to process this new information, and in effect, train its troops to respond optimally to that booster dose.”

Dr. William Schaffner, an expert in infectious diseases at Vanderbilt University in Tennessee, says it is crucial to give the immune system time to process what it receives in the initial vaccination series.
“It’s just well established that the immune system needs some time to process the information that it gets: the stimulus from a vaccine or a natural infection. And then if you want to boost it, you have to give it a certain amount of time to ‘digest’ that information so that it can respond optimally,” Schaffner told Healthline.

In other words, the whole "every 3-4 months" stuff is mostly unsupported in the science. But boosters in general do a very good job of training your immune system.

Seems like the Israeli's were trying to use multiple boosts to eliminate spread, which isn't possible or practical. But eliminating serious disease with 3 doses has worked out very very well.

And we're discussing a fourth dose here.

That's consistent with the Covid doses, where you got 2x 1 month apart, then another at ~6 months.

Not "every 3-4 months" like some random dude just popped off the top of his head.

Yet we're at 5 months now for the booster.

Yep, that's ~6 months.

Initial doses were "either 3 weeks or 4 weeks".
It's not "mission critical" to hit an exact day or anything.
They did 5 months for Covid vaccines, to get them out BEFORE the winter season set in.

“If the vaccines were adapted against Delta and Omicron, immunity would last much longer because lower levels of antibodies would be needed since those antibodies are directly targeted against those variants,” he added.

I will be happy to get boosters as provided, as I do with the flu shot.

we can also stop with all the rules and vaccination card requirements. It’s going to be impossible to get track of 300,000,000+ peoples status since we are not on same cycle.

Do not be ridiculous

They lined up for blocks to get polio shots in the '50s

And the mortality rates for polio are strikingly similar to Covid19

And you still get 4-5 shots for polio in this country as a child.

Four doses at 2, 4, 6-18 months then at 4-6 years.

He is certainly paid. It’s actually a compliment to Joe to point it out. He’s an insufferable dbag but he has his ducks in a row.
Except that when you are so hard core for one side of the discussion, you don’t allow yourself to listen to alternative talking points.

At some point people need to look at statistics and make a wise personal choice for themselves and their family. The politicians have killed all debate on masks, shutdowns, natural immunity in the name of “science”.

Yes I didn’t say he is correct, just that he clearly has data organized and is a good writer.

What are your "alternative talking points"?

Drinking your own pee?
Eating horse paste?
