Per @RickKlatt ticket sales have crossed 66,000 for Saturday's game against Illinois.

How is this not sold out? You guys are 5-0 and in the drivers seat in the West Division against another 1-0 West Division team, and a team many of you (at least on the eastern border) consider a rival.
Maybe everybody got invites to game day weddingsIt surprises me. I guess many of the fans saw the poor schedule this year and what they thought to be a mediocre team and made other plans. Now they don't want to break them. It may take some time to gain the fans back. Oh, and Illinois isn't much of a rival in football. Basketball, yes.
Those who didn't buy season tickets apparently aren't buying single game tickets either. They are at home grumbling "product" and "weak schedule" while some of us are at Kinnick enjoying a 5-0 team.
Am I the only one who thinks its a possibility we may not see the 71k numbers again?
As it's been mentioned many times, it's a growing trend nationally.
I'm guessing that many people who gave up their season tickets might be seeing how cheap & nice it is to watch the game from home versus waking up early, driving over an hour, and dealing with all of the game day traffic, all while saving money.
The occasional game is fun. But it gets old doing it every single game.
I'd need more of an incentive from the University to go every single weekend.
Translation: sell beer at kinnick and make the shit semi affordable.
We actually count how many attend-Nebby troll!!How is this not sold out? You guys are 5-0 and in the drivers seat in the West Division against another 1-0 West Division team, and a team many of you (at least on the eastern border) consider a rival.
IIRC, Alum-ni seems to be a pretty good Nebby poster. There is one, and I think it's him?We actually count how many attend-Nebby troll!!

It's him.No troll. Serious question.
This years success will show up in next years season ticket sales. Plus tougher home schedule by far will also have major impact. It's him.
Alum, the drop in season tickets was just too large. That is a lot of single game tickets to sell. They lost something like 7k season ticket holders? That would put them at about 3k over capacity right now with 66k sold so far.
They pobably won't be too far from a sellout this week.
No doubt...assuming the success continues. This years success will show up in next years season ticket sales. Plus tougher home schedule by far will also have major impact.

My question for Alum-Ni - for the rather putrid/inconsistent product that Nebby puts on the field this year, how are the huskers still maintaining their attendance levels?
Oh I'm sure we could find some examples in sports where teams doing well in one year has nothing to do with previous years.Strange how some fans feel 5 games should erase 5 years of bad football...smh

Strange how some feel a few years of mediocre football should erase an entire career. smhStrange how some fans feel 5 games should erase 5 years of bad football...smh
We do? How would there ever be a "sellout" then? I think most places count tickets sold. Why would it even matter how many showed up as long as the tickets are paid for?We actually count how many attend-Nebby troll!!
Imagine a season where Iowa state, Wisconsin, Nebraska, and Ohio State all play at Iowa City. You don't see that home schedule as being more desirable than our home schedule this year?????I don't understand the "weak schedule" argument. Don't folks pay to see the HAWKEYES play? I am not a Miami Marlins fan so I pick and choose the games I go to based on the opponent. As a fan of the HAWKEYES I don't give a rats ass who they are playing. I want to see them win.
First off, I don't see the correlation between being a "longtime fan" and having joined a message board less than a month ago.
Im curious on your reasoning & await your response on that.
Second, in no way do I understand why that would even be relevant to what I've said.
When I go to a game, I can't wait to be there. But it's much easier/cheaper and sometimes nicer to do it from home.
Lastly, you can reply to my original post without sounding like a stuckup jackass. Yes, I joined a couple weeks ago. I've had more to do in the past few years than sit on a message board all day, every day.
That's all fine and good but make those same comments to the fans that called us ST holders the problem for the mediocre seasons.A buddy and I are heading over from Des Moines. Count me as a former season ticket holder who gave my tickets up 3 years ago ... I still enjoy getting back to Kinnick every now and then ... Actually, this will be my third game this year (Ill St, Pitt, Ill) ...
One thing I wish "some" fans would not do and that's "call out" other fans for not going to games (just because you decided to go or just because you have season tickets). For the "super fans" who like to call other fans out: You don't know other people's situation (i.e. money, time, work, kids, etc.). And, you have to remember, Iowa football has been down ... not just for one season ... And, technology (i.e. social media, etc.) has really changed our lives. There are lots of factors why people aren't going to games ... and it's not just Iowa City.
So how about instead of labeling yourself "Super fan" (because you go to games) that you instead enjoy your experience at Kinnick and let's all enjoy the ride and see where this season takes us. I will be at Kinnick tomorrow. That being said, I am not going to critique those who won't be there.
