80% support voter ID

You didn't make a point.

You've Gish Galloped away from the point that IDs in places like GA, TX, etc will be MUCH more difficult to obtain than in the European countries.
Just stop. It is YOU who have failed to make ANY point on your assertion. ID's work in MANY place around the world. They can work here. Your have pivoted and failed to even provide substance that it is ridiculous. Again, you claim it would be so hard for people to sign up for and obtain a form a voter ID (and this would ONLY be for those who don't already have a form of legitimate ID), yet somehow this country had a record number of voters cast votes in the last election. We are not talking about forcing people to get this in a short amount of time. I think about 4 years should suffice. Good grief, the way you talk you would think we live in a third world country. But, by all means....keep dodging if you must.

It was an absentee ballot, bro.
No IDs are required for those. If one was, he'd have mailed it in.

They caught it because of the forged signature. Many of these new laws are doing away with signatures. Maybe that's because that is how so many of the GOPers are getting caught, including the Colorado Republican chair, who claimed "a diabetic episode" in court.
Bud, you assume I am ok with the way absentee ballot are done? Make it more secure when you request one. Hmmm......maybe some form of legitimate ID when you request one. LOL!!

So, you're sticking with "public transit in TX/GA/AL" being as good and reliable as in Europe.

I cannot believe THAT is your big argument for why people would not be able to get a voter ID. LOL!! Italy and Spain and England were beautiful when I visited.

I cannot believe THAT is your big argument

That was simply the response to "IDs being easy to get for everyone". And the person who made that comment up and vanished like a fart in the wind. Leaving you to waft the remaining smell around.

And your response was and continues to be ridiculous and without basis.

LOL! Yes, lets use RUSSIA as an example of FREE elections. Come on. As far as your point to Georgia. This skullduggery you speak of is EXACTLY the reason to make voting more secure....not less. And I am sure you would agree that the examples you mentioned should be addressed. If they are happening, then yes, lets address them and make sure EVERYONE's vote counts correctly.
They have been on-going for 200 years there, partner! All you are looking for is a way to legally exclude the poor and minorities from exercising their right to vote. Since the voting rights act of 1964, these folks have had a vehicle to assist them in gaining their right to vote...the (legislative) actions by the state’s and now, the SC just hinders this route to citizenship.

Hawkman...do you think so so motivated, might invest in “fake” IDs...just like is done for underaged drinking?

This is simply not true. Again, this is not rocket science. There is no logical reason to not want a more secure election. You honestly think we can't get people an ID who don't have one, but wish to vote...especially those who need help the most??? I have WAY more faith then you do. And, if you are asking me if I want someone to be an actual citizen of this great country before they get to vote....for heavens sake yes!

This is sooooo much more than. Over ID thing...this is about creating hoops for citizens to jump thru so they can exercise their most basic right as an American citizen. IDs, shortened voting windows, shortened voting hours, Bull Shit rules like “ no water while waiting” to vote, capricious culling of the voter registration and eliminating voters without notification...screw the “ID” aspect of the law...you are gonna get that....and it won’t change a damn thing as far as making elections safer...

Joel, believe it or not....many of the things that you mentioned that were happening or are proposed.....I AGREE with you are wrong. This is not about any of those things. For me, those things and voter ID are mutually exclusive. We have people on both sides saying funny business goes on in elections. Voter ID's would not make that problem worse. But yes, lets trash some of the other stuff that has been proposed.
