I’ll always retain good memz of Fran. Fran-ball at its best (see Big Ten Tournament Championship run and the clinic against Davidson in the NCAA First Round) has been beautiful to watch and he’s given it his all here at Iowa despite our mediocre support.

One thing is for sure, win and people will come back just like they always have. I have no idea if Fran will come back, his recent recruiting efforts seem to suggest he'll stay. But about those butts...

Perfect world: Fran retires gracefully and DeVries steps in the next day.

What I think will happen: Beth will weigh her options and end up retaining Fran, at least for one more season, to shore up commitments from big donors for NIL to make the job more attractive next year. The average Joe fan will not be happy.

Both excited and a little nervous for him to move on. His antics have always annoyed me but he did have some really good teams that were fun to watch. That said you never know what your going to get when it comes to hiring a coach. Lickliter was the national coach of the year and we all know how that turned out. Best of luck to the guys on the team, let's hope for the best!
