A vast majority of liberals don’t give a damn about Ukraine

Let’s start with not completely ambushing Zelensky in front of the world while appearing to back our longtime enemy. How about that for starts? Second. How about working out a deal that benefits all in some way shape or form? How about that?

Why does your side support Russia on this issue?
It’s been mentioned several times, he either had no intention on signing the mineral deal and mislead the US, or changed his mind, yet decided to do it in front of the cameras. DT telling him what’s up is on Zelenskyy.

DT gave him a path without promises because it’s too soon, since he didn’t take it, it drew out Europe to step up. Please see the authentic posts from European leaders.

And just because some are OK with how the Whitehouse responded doesn’t mean Russia is supported. You can not be pissing off Russia and expect a deal. With the mineral deal the US would have skin in the game that would benefit Ukraine, the US deserves its money and would be taking a risk being there.

Now stop holding your breath.

What is stopping liberals from heading to Ukraine to join the fight? If you are actually this passionate about Ukraine why not put some boots and blood on the battlefield?

Ukraine doesn’t need you posting a flag in a profile picture they need your ass in a tree line firing at NK troops.

That's fake news. Trump planned to sign the agreement. Zelensky screwed up. Zelensky now wants to sign the agreement.

Trump will now force Zelensky to give up more.

He was busy arguing how could Biden let Russia attack Ukraine at the time.
I noticed you never came back and provided any proof of your false statement about unusual crypto call activity yesterday? I wonder why? Actually, I don't wonder. You made a false statement so no proof exists. You are not to be believed. Ever. Surprise, surprise.

You could sub Ukraine with Turkey or Poland and I’d feel the same… I’d want to support their defense against our adversary. Period.

Trump is purely transactional. Russia is offering mineral deal to keep Donbas and Crimea. Ukraine was offering deal to get Russia to leave their country and US promise to aid them again if Russia goes back on their word.

Trump must clearly like the deal Russia has offered by the way he’s acting. He couldn’t care less about any of our allies… unless they have some sort of transactional deal he wants or likes.

I’m amazed at the cowardice displayed by the Rs. Most spoke in favor of the pact with Ukraine, now Trump is being Trump and almost all are scared to death.

We don’t need to do a damn thing but stop the killing at no expense to America.
We watched the entirety of Europe be enveloped for 10 years before Japan attacked us.

They just hate Trump.

It's not just liberals who don't really give a s*it about Ukraine...it's most Americans.

The injustice of Russia invading and probably getting to keep most of the territory they took infuriates most Americans, but we aren't ever going to want to commit our own troops to fighting for Ukraine, and most Americans realize sending weapons and money isn't ultimately going to get it done.

So it sucks for Ukraine, and somewhat for Europe no matter how you slice it. For our $350bn we learned that Russias military isn't near as scary as we thought. The ROI on that is up for debate. The minerals deal would be the saving grace for the US if we could swing it, otherwise we probably shouldn't be spending more money there.

I love the Republicans now pretending to want “peace” in Ukraine to save lives. Virtue signaling at its finest. You can debate how much liberals care about Ukraine, I guarantee you that Republicans care even less.
They've been conditioned to believe that Ukraine is a corrupt dictatorship stealing from the U.S. and Russia is an ally and a victim of Western aggression. Can't make this shit up.

You’re falling for Trump’s lies. Before spending so long on a subject - maybe check your sources?

He won't ever try to back any of his nonsense up with facts either. He's incapable and an anti-intellectual pussy.

What’s there to back? Go die for Mother Ukraine if you’re so concerned about Russian aggression.
Or how about we hold to our commitment to protect Ukraine, as Marco Rubio mentioned, back when he had a spine:

Don't believe Bagdad Biden that it's 80 to 1. It's more like 1 to 1.

That's why CNN stopped giving live battlefield updates.

I would tend to agree, if not 1 to 2 in Russia's favor, but the numbers put out by Russia are a farce.
That said, a superpower that can not advance into an inferior country is telling about its strength.

The numbers that both sides put out is a farce.

Keep in mind, Russia doesn't fight wars the way the U.S. does. Russia feels the loss of solders is the cost of business when going to war.

What’s best for Americans?
It's easy to look at everything transactionally as Trump does and say that ceasing support for and sacrificing Ukraine to Putin in exchange for minerals is better for Americans. It's a morally bankrupt bargain, but when viewed from a purely monetary perspective is the correct move. Nothing however is without consequences.

Since WW2 the U.S. has been seen as a counterweight to Russian and Chinese aggression and expansionism. This action and accompanying statements by this administration effectively ends U.S. hegemony in that effort. Anyone who believes that Putin isn't interested in restoring the Soviet Union's previous borders to the greatest extent possible is naive at best. China is free to take Taiwan and potentially others in the South China Sea, and along with a newly emboldened North Korea exert pressure on South Korea.

In short, the U.S. isn't getting stronger in this equation. The U.S. is giving in to expansionism by others who will fill this vacuum and are eager to squash their neighbors and replace the U.S. as the dominant economic and military power in the world. Over the longer term the U.S. which, along with a strong network of western allies has enjoyed unparalleled economic success since WW2 ended, will find itself weaker and isolated. But hey, those minerals sure came in handy.

Where did I reference something Trump said (you know the mineral deal was Zelenskyys idea right? Trump just sees opportunity there)?

What did I say that's even wrong? I mostly stated opinions.

BTW, have you seen America's trust in the MSM? The last thing I'm probably going to do is take source suggestions from a partisan.

The mainstream public has no idea of the level of corruption in Ukraine, and how US aid is being misused to enrich a lot of people. Go back and look at the last funding bill. Why should we ever give aid to another country earmarked for that government's pensions? It seems a lot of the military weapons aren't being used against Russia, but are being sold in the international arms black markets.

Meanwhile, elections have been suspended, political parties in highly ethnic Russian areas have been outlawed, speaking Russian and teaching the Russian language and history has been outlawed. and on and on.

As far as enabling Putin, would it be better to stop his aggression now, or let him keep going at a slow pace? The notion the US is hurting Putin via a proxy war has lost it's validity as Russia and China together are now a more dangerous threat, and the US is crippling itself by giving away munitions reserves and going deeper into debt while providing our own arms to terrorists through the Ukraine black market.

It's never been about Ukraine for Democrats. It's always been about the need for Putin as the bogeyman, and because Trump actually talks to Putin. It's always been about team politics because Biden supported Ukraine (while his family profited).

Posters on this board will cherry pick my comments in this post and ignore this paragraph. Putin is crazy and dangerous. There's no defense for his military aggression. Zelenskyy is crazy and corrupt as well. Zelenskyy has been emboldened by his ability to continue getting cash from the US.

Would anyone like to wager on if Zelenskyy remains in Ukraine after he leaves office? My bet is he ends up in France or Switzerland in a very nice chalet and some tidy numbered bank accounts.

Rule #1 because Trump makes up a number doesn’t make it accurate. Google search shows the actual number in the 183 billion range. Still a lot of money but basically half of what Trump is claiming.

No need to cherry pick. Aside from the 2 bolded statements, it's a load of right wing bullshit with zero substance to back any of it up. Try again.

Conservatives siding with Russia. It's amazing to see. I've got to get off my ass and officially get my voter registration updated to not be an R anymore. Gross.

I have no clue. You should ask them.

Now answer my question. Why are republicans all of the sudden siding with our longtime enemy?
Because Zelensky is selling American weapons to the Mexican Cartels and pocketing that money. It's highly likely that those arms are now in the hands of Hamas and other terrorists hell bent on killing Americans. Oh, and Russia is a victim of Western aggression.
