Unless you grew up a die hard iowa fan, why would you not choose PSU over Iowa?
Psu guys seem to develop more.
Psu guys seem to stay healthier.
Psu guys seem to be more well rounded and have better technique
Psu guys seem to have better match strategy.
Psu guys bring home more hardware
Psu has a better post collegiate group of wrestlers to roll with.
The list goes on and on.......
not for what matters for recruiting -individual titles.
In the last 10 years, Iowa had 8 #1 seeds at NCAA's. They went 1/8 in those attempts (2021 Spencer). Shocking level of underperformance in the biggest moment.
I agree with the above comparison - I think we are also seeing the influence of including one family in the Iowa room that many parents and kids just don’t want to be involved with.

And there are obviously people involved that thought and offer with money and a kid not saying no meant yes. Amateur hour sales.

It was quick and a bit quietly spoken, but I definitely heard Aaron say to Basch that when he was a kid he dreamed of wrestling for Penn State.
No matter where you live (moving farther from Iowa might be better), some of you older gents maybe should consider trading older wives in for younger models and getting to work on that next generation of diehard Iowa fans. The general population seems to be dwindling.

The sport is taking a nasty turn at this point. 1 team just cashing in all top recruits, locking up a title before season even begins. Great way to grow the sport.
I am a season ticket holder, go to ncaa's most years. This past Christmas my kids top wishlist item was a psu wrestling singlet (which I of course bought him).

I didn't shed any tears when we won 9 in a row. Things are cyclical but this one is going to take a while to turnaround.

We are using the same words that were used against us under Gable. I think we have a problem at the top that needs a change in training strategy. I like Morningstar and Telford but we need a big name in here. The problem is they are all but Spencer are in the Nittany Lion wrestling club finishing out their competition years. Still 3 years away but we need a huge recruiting land by getting Bassett and or Jax Forrest. We also need to get into California for recruiting

I get where you are coming from as 90% of the posts here do just that.
Search my nickname and take a look at my posts. With that said there are some that do offer their insights. I will speak for one of them and you get mostly the same back when you do.
Here is my take regardless of insight. First step will have to be the staff opening up to suggestions. Before you all attack. Not suggestions from a message board. Second, if that does't happen people that can influence, i.e. high wealth donors need to suggest. Third, people close to the program, i.e. HWC board members have to push for it. Unfortunately, I haven't seen any signs of any of these as of yet. Based on that I see the current situation perpetuating itself until one, or all of the above happen.
Gosh I hope we're not pinning our hopes on recruitment of freshmen and eighth graders.

So according to him, the reason he’s going there is so he can serve God, which he can’t do here, because we all know the Brand’s aren’t Christian’s, nor are guys like marrinelli, who walks around with a big God shirt on all the time. I guess God wants PSU to set a points record next year at nationals that will never be broken. If that’s the case, then yes, he is going there to serve God. A few years ago, PSU bullshit theme was they are the fun place to be, now their bullshit is they are Gods chosen program. The truth is, Carl is a stone cold killer with recruiting, who would sell his own mother for a dime if it helped him land a recruit. If you’re a wrestler there you better have eyes in your back, looking for the knife to come. Two people who are happy the way PSU’ s portal luck went this spring is Assad and Teske!

I’m a PSU fan and hate Iowa, but my kid showing no interest in wrestling. Kill for him to ask for an Iowa singlet (or any).
I most definitely tried to warn everyone here what I believed was going on.
Don’t forget to add the only wrestling team that exists to serve God, which cannot be done at all the other programs, which are all a bunch of heathens.

Who gives a crap if he is religious. Brands are pretty religious. Marinelli is quite religious. It doesn't really matter from a wrestling aspect. Not sure why you are hung up on that.
No, I’m not stupid enough to fall for that “I’m just going there to serve God bullshit”. Be honest kid, you’re going there to win a team title and get paid, even if you could have squeezed more out of Iowa. The next reason is to get into your freestyle club. You volunteer at church, charity’s, and go on mission trips to serve God, not jump on board the most talented college wrestling team that has ever been assembled. Finally, if you do like me or other hawk fans, then go back to your PSU board, nobody invited you assholes to OUR fan board!
