About Damn Time!

We said all week that BC wasn't a very good team. Now granted... it took multiple starters being sidelined to increase Iowa's chances for a win, but the crappy field and a team similar to ours was just what the doctor ordered.
Was Iowa also not missing multiple starters on both sides of the ball? At minimum, Jackson, Ike, Myers, ISM, Taylor, Snyder. Kind of the way things are this time of year for most teams.

That field reminded me of my childhood and trying to play football on a waxed linoleum floor wearing fuzzy wool socks. Wadley just could not use all his tools in the running game.

And yet he still had 283 yards. He ran HARD in the 2nd half. He was breaking tackles and dragging guys. He really played like a man on a mission. He couldn't make his cuts like he usually does, but he adjusted well in the scheme of things. I was so impressed with how hungry he was. He looked determined to win all game long. I'm going to miss him playing for Iowa, but I think he's going to do well in the NFL.

I thought the Hawks had much better grip on that ice rink in the second half. Did they all change shoes at halftime? I don't recall during any of the talk of shoes showing pics of Iowa cleats, it looked like it was only BC changing shoes during that first half. Is it possible that they did not have alternate shoes on the field, only in the locker room? It was a tale of two halves after all.

Hard to say. I don't remember any shots of Iowa's sidelines during the game, either. Maybe one or two of Kirk, but that was it. Plenty of shots of Boston College, though, for whatever reason.

I don't know what this means. Neither team was great. Both teams had very good wins and puzzling losses. But BC hit its stride down the stretch, housed Florida State and routed Syracuse and lost by 7 to NC State. They were a legitimate team. Both teams were missing key guys. Iowa played much better in the second half and made far fewer mistakes. Sometimes just making less mistakes wins you the game.

I'm thinking the posters that think we should blow out a team that beat teams like Florida St are the same ones that expect us to win 10 or 11 games every year.
