Methinks they mistook requests for absentee ballots rather than actual ballots. In Iowa ballots not yet sent but requests have been sent which I got.

Knowing from past elections that Dems push early/absentee voting by about a 4 to 1 ratio, shortening the time frame is ABSOLUTELY voter suppression.

Our county sends out SAMPLE ballots that are clearly marked SAMPLE. Maybe theirs does too?

I’m so damn old I remember when there WAS no early voting. Get an absentee ballot or get up and head to the polls.

Things can happen in one's personal life that you might not make it to the polling site...family emergency, car problems, weather issues, etc.
Dems have excelled at promoting it.
And I will bet there are voters that simply think their vote won't affect results. Or they read or hear that one candidate has lost support and their votes won't change anything.

Back in 2020 I voted early. Then a couple days before election day I got covid, and was sicker than shit for like 4-5 days. Had I not voted early, there's no way in hell I would have been able to get my ass to a polling site/csb

60 years ago stories are neat. Ever hear of people who work odd hours or are forced by work to be away from home on Election Day? Ever hear of rural America where polling places are an hour or more away?

It *wasn't* common with universal voter databases, but since 2020 no less than *9* conservative Republican-voting states have withdrawn from the shared databases, making voter fraud there *much* easier.

Probably no coincidence that it has been found that voters with vacation properties in a different state than their home state vote much more heavily Republican.
I’ve never even intimated that we shouldn’t have enormous numbers of registered voters get out and vote. It’s the ultimate civic duty.
I wish that we could vote on a weekend more like European countries and that way our turnout would be higher. Citizen participation in casting our vote is hugely important.
We just see the election window differently. Our early voting starts here in my county on the 21st and also anyone can request a mail in ballot. That’s two weeks to get yourself to a polling spot and if you care you can get there.

Not in Florida. The SoFla northern transplants are largely from the northeast (NY and NJ) and they’re a big reason the three counties of Dade, Broward and Palm Beach vote Dem.

If you received an actual ballot they'll have you fill out a provisional ballot.
I'm envious, you'll get vote on election day and get the experience of early in-person voting. There's a decent chance it doesn't even get counted.
