ACA death spiral beginning?

GOVERNMENT is why these problems exist. If you had asked your doctor how much a procedure cost before Medicaid and Medicare came about, you would have gotten a straight answer. Today, the doctor has no idea how much anything costs and will have to refer you to his office manager.
Substitute "MedicCare and MedicAid" with "health insurance" and you are on to something. MedicCare and MedicAid are the results of private health insurance, not the cause.

Having spent decades in the insurance industry I would challenge your statement. And the complexity of regulations was the government. The problem appeared to be complex because politicians convinced you they were complex. It was those idiots who made it complex.
I got thirty years in 2016, they have always lost and will always lose with major medical health insurance, they make money with supplemental and life insurance and disability, but not major medical

I hear what you're saying and actually our company always looked at it as a break even. Some years black, some red.

And Obamacare will be a national disaster, correct? The cost to our country will be inconceivable. But..........our liberal friends will never blame themselves. They are too smart for the rest of us.

Thoreau didn't really like government, but he knew it was an extension of people unable to govern themselves. Thats not to say that all people can't....just that enough of them can't....and I can tell you that its true from experience

And............when government over extends? Then what did Thoreau say? I know what our founding fathers said and they were really good.

Anybody remember the good old days of American exceptionalism when we strived to be the greatest country on the planet. Now we have people trying to turn us into Finland.

I know for a fact also because I've been licensed all that time as an agent { except for a gap of five years there} and one time in the 80's I got "the talk" about major med from the higher ups

Lower infant mortality and longer life expectancy in most of those countries. Now, you can say that its possible there are other factors that influence those stats, and you would be right, but they spend a lot less as a % of GDP.

Has it occurred to you that those other factors are also cost drivers?

So greatness is defined by having millions of uninsured with little access to health care?
first of all, insurance does not automatically grant you access to healthcare, as we are finding out with the crap aca and how few doctors and hospitals want to accept it. second of all, we had zero people un-covered technically prior to the aca due to the law called the EMTALA law passed in 1986
