I want MSU to win and knock Bama & the SEC out 2 years in a row at the hands of the B1G.

I'm just not sure how this will go because of a coupe of things.

1. Alabama plays well against smash mouth teams. Mobile QB's / spread attacks hurt them more

2. Connor Cook is / may not be healthy to provide a bonafide downfield passing threat

3. MSU got some breaks in the title game they may not get against Bama

In their favor is I am not sure Bama has much of a passing game. Can MSU stop Henry?

Going with my heart and MSU. I am excited to see this game. Alabama QB will have to make plays I believe as MSU will absolutely sell out against Henry. Question will be how does MSU score. Need to give Cook time as the ground game will be tough sledding. Very intriguing match up. I would also look for a point where MD tries to manufacture some points or an extra possession with a little trickery. REALLY want them to contain Henry. If they do it is game on.

Bama will win, by two or more TD's. Not a SEC guy , but their one loss was a fluke.
They won't have 5 TO's against MSU.
Have you watched Bama? They're not good on offense. It's Henry and that's it. Coker is below average. There no Amari Cooper or Julio Jones to throw to. Below average offense and they will struggle to score on sparty let alone beat them by 2 touchdowns.

Bama weaker than last year, MSU every bit the team tOSU was a year ago--even better with Cook healthy. Honestly think MSU wins by double digits rest of way...

Cannot totally disagree. Offense fills stadiums, defense wins championship's. Maybe 2 TD's is a bit bold,
but I think Bama's defense will be the difference. We'll see shortly.

MSU - 24
Alabama - 14

Henry loses a fumble and 'Bama throws an INT. MSU drives late for the clinching TD. Saban wears that same face he wore after Tate to Hollaway and wonders why he can't beat the Big Ten in the big games.

The Tate-Holloway or Kick-Six expression...Priceless...

Who ya got? What will the score be?

MSU 24
Alabama 17

They have not played a defense like MSU, and their offense plays right into their strengths. Cook and company get things rolling and it could be a long day for bama!

I have OK over Clemson.

MSU over Ok

Both Alabama and MSU exude physical and mental toughness. Bama has more talent. I'd love to see MSU win, but I think Bama by 10 pts

I think MSU wins this...MSU 20 Alabama 14. I think MSU has a good enough defense to compete with Alabama and they have a more balanced offense. Go Big Ten!

Sure that they'll win by 10 and not 9? :) Right now the line is 9.5. I rarely bet but I'm tempted..I don't know if they will win but I think they might keep it close.

I don't think MSU can handle either lines from Bama. The O-line is sick, and the d-line is big and solid all across. Calhoun becomes a non-factor because I don't see them from stopping Henry.

BAMA 20 MSU 13

Alabama is 1 dimensional and on paper MSU should exploit that very well. However, Alabama has so much future NFL talent, and it might not matter. I'm excited to watch this game, because I think Alabama might get humbled.

Which of Bama's last two bowl faceplants were they deemed heavy overdogs? Yep, both...their bowl losing streak goes to three after MSU kicks them...(will edit to say Bama opened -9.5 to MSU, -9 to tOSU, -16 to OU...stop the bias please...)

This. I was saying in Indy before the game that Iowa-Mich St was for the Nat Title. Unfortunately we lost. Top 3 teams in CFB from the B1G.

Yes, this is where the game is won or lost. In the trenches, I know any honest Hawkeye fan would say our DL was not that healthy or talented in comparison to what Alabama has to offer. Just think about that for a while... MSU struggled to score against us most of the game.

I look at the Alabama-Tennessee game where Tennessee missed 3 fgs and bama pulled it out at the end. That was a game they should have lost. Tennessee actually out gained them on the ground that game. Go MSU!

The Vols are a curious case this year. Hell, they probably should have beaten Oklahoma too. I'd strictly guess Northwestern is in for a rough day!

MSU 28

People get worked up over recruiting star rankings but Bama has nothing for MSU that they didn't see in Indy and Iowa is a much more complete TEAM. Sparty passed it's toughest test of the postseason against us. Book it!

I would not count NW out. Fitzgerald gets his teams to play hard all the time. We were an absolute dumpster fire when taking on UT last year so they will probably come in thinking this is going to be another walk in the park.

The biggest thing when playing the SEC is surving the first quarter.

Mixed feelings somewhat, pulling for MSU...but watching Saban get smashed by the team he elected not to take to a bowl game--PRICELESS...

My brother went to bama so I tend to follow them pretty closely. If the Alabama defense has a place you can attack it, it's the secondary. I really don't think MSU will be able to run at all. If cook is healthy I think they can keep it close. If not, it'll be a lot of 3 and outs followed by Henry carrying the ball about 40 times. In the end, talent wins out. Bama 27 MSU 20

Two things Iowa couldn't do that Alabama likely will do:

1) Stop MSU's running game. They had 174 yards on 46 carries, with a long of just 12. They methodically pounded us on the ground for 3-4 per carry, as we all remember on that last drive. But also check the T.O.P. at 36:38 vs Iowa's 23:22. Alabama's defense won't get as tired as ours did, and Alabama's defense is better than ours.

2) Pressure Cook. Iowa did get two sacks in the B1G championship game, but I wouldn't say Cook was pressured much by the Iowa front seven. Alabama will bring that pressure, although admittedly they might not have as good of a secondary like you said so who knows if Cook will have a better or worse game... but I think he will see more pressure.

Also, Alabama probably won't have the roughing the punter "turnover", the "pick it off my back INT", or the opening drive fumble that MSU took advantage of! On the flip side, I can't see MSU committing 8 penalties for 80 yards like they did in the championship game.

MSU may keep it close enough for +9.5 to win. But I don't think they'll win. What I read a lot of on this site is "HOPE MSU wins", and that's understandable because they are the only team to beat us and we rationally want to see our conference win the national title.

I just worry about Alabama's speed. They have some serious quick players in the skill positions and I think Bama will try to throw the ball deep against MSU's secondary.

I also think Special Teams come into play here, i think both teams are good in ST, so it could come down to a FG.

I think it will be a low scoring game as both teams defensives are very good (similar to BTC). The offenses will probably struggle and the turnover battle will be HUGE.

I got:

MSU 24
Bama 27

I think Bama does just enough to get past Sparty. I hate to see it, i want MSU to win it all for the Big Ten. But Bama is Bama and they are loaded with talent.

Off Topic- Watching the media specials on ESPN, what is with all the MSU players saying, "we get no respect anywhere, we have to prove ourselves every game."

pretty sure they get respect everywhere and people respect their program, is that just their coach trying to motivate them?
