It's hard for anyone to get on Alford's bus when you're constantly being thrown underneath it.
The band? Seriously?
I despise Colonel Hairgel as much as the next guy, but he has won almost 700 games in his career, so it's not like he is clueless when it comes to basketball...just human relations.
The guy is just an asshole and has always been one.
So they need to get the band back together
He never even blamed the band. He said he can't believe they don't have a band at the home game. Good grief, this is over the top.
To be fair, most students go home for Christmas break, even the ones in the band.
I met a couple at Prime Time League that grew up near New Castle. They said if you saw how he was treated growing up you would understand why he thinks his shit don't stink.
He's a gift to all us commoners. We all know it.
Sad part he’s better than Woodson. He’s been an awful hire.
Only time I even think about Alford is when someone makes a post on this Iowa board. It’s been 17 years, it’s time people move on from him.
But he has such a punchable face.
Steve just turned 60 two months ago. Hasn’t reached an Elite Eight in 29+ years of coaching. Hasn’t won a tournament game since 2017. And hasn’t accepted blame for any of his failures ever.
Why TF is he even bringing the band up? That should be the least of his concerns FFS.
Now 0-4 in conference play, lost 82-81 to New Mexico in OT. I hope they don’t win a game and he gets fired. Hate that guy. LoL.

That was an incredible game. There were multiple terrible calls by the refs in favor of Nevada but NM kept fighting and won in a March Madness-esque play. Going to be one of the best games of the year.
I go to The Pit a couple times a year, wish I could have made it to that one.
