They are the most convenient way to kill 10+ people. It's why gun violence and mass shootings are ubiquitous in the USA.
That’s extremely debatable, but more importantly, doesn’t solve anything. If you take away one option, there are plenty of others.
Vehicles- We've seen instances of this, but they are limited by access. Not able to drive in schools/super markets etc. (poor example)
Knives/Blades - Possible, but limited by proximity and desire (psychologically much more difficult to do vs. pull a trigger)
Explosives - Possible, hard to make, raise suspicion buying supplies
what else? Mass poisoning? Need access to public water supply.
I'm trying to envision a scenario where your take makes sense. Just because there are other options doesn't mean we should do nothing about the most common and easily accessible option.
No; it's not debatable.
I have not claimed it.
And other countries with better gun laws do NOT have increases in those other "options" for mass casualties.
Ergo: guns are unique.
Do you have to register to buy Claritin, or beer?
Is there a single day, every 2 years you get to purchase them?
Is there a single "store" you can purchase them from, where your registration you make elsewhere has to match?
When those things become "reality", you can make the comparison you are attempting to make. Otherwise, it is just silly.
