That Kemerer may participate in? I'd love to see him get a few more wins under his belt, hopefully vs better competition.
The UNI Open would be one.
Are you pouting? There's a middle-school JV tourney in the Quad Cities that they were considering sending him to, but they decided it might be too much for him this early in his career.

It's one thing to wish you could see them against higher competition or even to say you'd do it that way if you were coaching...its another to belittle their accomplishments to date by comparing them with a junior high meet.
We have a number of posters on here that like to second guess every decision our coaches make. Nobody is above criticism, but we have a large contingent that truly believe they are smarter than everybody else. If Kemerer doesn't develop, it won't have anything to do with not wrestling Mayes this past weekend.I don't get all the complaining about which bracket people wrestle in. I've always considered Dan Gable a pretty good wrestling coach. In my freshman year, guys like Eric Juergens and Doug Schwab wrestled in the 20 and under division with the rest of us at the UNO Open.
Unless you know the guys personally, I'm not sure why you'd want to determine what tournament they wrestle in. I hope that competition for red-shirts is primarily aimed at helping them develop as athletes...I'd prefer that the people deciding what the right schedule of competition is are the same people working with the athletes every day. And Brent Metcalf as a true freshman wrestled the Open Division at Kauffman Brand and lost on a penalty point to Ty Eustice in the Finals, while Dustin Schlatter won the 20 and under (and later went on to win a National Title that same true freshman year).I don't get all the complaining about which bracket people wrestle in. I'm not belittling Kemerer's accomplishments, Gogel, I'm belittling the level of competition he's faced.I don't get all the complaining about which bracket people wrestle in. according to sansouci the quadcity jr high wrestlers are pussies, so maybe a jv jr high tournament up around waterloo or waverly might be better for kemdogs progress.
Hey now, don't be picking on Afton/East Union. That's where I graduated from!Waterloo or Waverly?? C'mon man, send him to the Afton Triangular if you want to really test him.

Someone reported that Kemmerer was last seen chasing the TD around the parking lot!I think Kemmerer pinned or TF'd everyone except the tournament director. For you literalists, he didn't actually wrestle the tournament director.
