Anyone else just really enjoy watching Spencer Lee wrestle?

So today at lunch I was on the youtube and I figured I would see if I could find the Vito Glory match from this weekend. No luck but off course Vito Lee from 2019 Senior Nationals popped up so I watched it. Then of course I see Lee Cruz from the same tournament, then I see the 2018 National Title Match against Nicky Transfer so I watch that. I could probably spend all day watching his matches. He's just fun to watch.

I’ve actually thought about reaching out somewhere and seeing if I can buy a collection of all of his matches he’s had while in college. I feel like that would be a good NIL opportunity.

I’m not sure where someone would go to collect all of those, but I’d like to have a dvd or something that I could access. He wouldn’t be the only current Hawkeye wrestler I’d like to have this collection of.

Does anyone have any idea if something like this is possible?

Not an expert, but he doesn’t own the rights to those videos.

Yeah you’re probably right. But I thought I’d throw the idea out into the hemisphere and maybe someone would latch onto it.

If it’s at all possible, I’m sure it would be a great fundraising mechanism for HWC and give some cash to graduating seniors.

I do like watching his matches. Desanto is even more fun to watch.
Disagree, don't get me wrong, Desanto is definitely fun to watch. My preference is Spencer though.
He is so sound in technique plus his riding and turning skills are second to none.

I enjoy watching ADS break people’s will. His match against Jordan Decatur is a classic for me. Watching Decatur complain to the ref while ADS spins him around like a top for constant go behinds in the third was priceless.

Spencer and Austin have been my favorite Hawks to watch these past few years. It’s a tough choice picking one over the other. Spencer is a technical master and I don’t think anyone has ever been as good as he is on top. Austin has a 60 gallon tank and never seems to relent. Gonna miss both of these guys when they’re gone.

The combo of Bull and Kem will be greatly missed by me. No disrespect to Lee and ADS, but if things went south before halftime, they always righted the ship. Almost similar to Lee and ADS starting the dual off strong, Bull and Kem always brought the heat to start the second half off strong.

Shane sparks certainly doesn’t think much of Spencer. Didn’t even rank him in the top 5 big ten wrestlers of the last 10 years

No, I’m pretty sure you’re the only one.
I ain’t no fanboy of Spencer; but I gotta admit, I’ve been guilty of this on MANY occasions. It’s literally poetry in motion. Especially when he’s on top? It’s literally art. I think a lot of us wrestling geeks probably do it more than we like to admit. But I also geek out watching old gobot cartoons from the 80’s when I was a kid….

nevermind. I have issues and should probably seek professional help. Thanks.

Love watching Spencer. Excited to watch a healthy Spencer destroy people moving forward.

Oh wow!! You went there??? At least it wasn't the one of J'den getting ahold of me at Eiremann's after getting home from winning Fargo. . .
That was a nice first take down and I thought you had him stuck! Honestly I honestly quit watching after it looked like you pinned him. I don’t even know what happened after that. My bad on the poor clip choice. I like that you have those available though.

And J’Den’s pretty damn good. No shame there.

I'll go with an off take here but I think watching him in neutral is more impressive than top. Seems today 83 percent of shots end up in a scramble, reach over to the ankle, reshot, scramble, latch on to an ankle, stalemate. Watch Spencer and 11 seconds into the match he's working on top, but since he's not a catch and release guy his efficiency in neutral gets over looked.

I can see that. I've always been impressed with his top transitions. He's always looking for something and it seems like he usually gets it. I wonder if there are any stats exist on his first vs second attempt scoring percentages? That would be cool to see from both neutral and top.

No son yet for me but hopefully one day I can show him videos of Spencer for his technical abilities, and then desantos for his drive and nonstop motor.

Nope. All his matches from high school and college combined would be like 45 minutes.

When he finished his Junior year in HS, there was a video posted on Youtube (probably still there) that showed all of his matches in the state tournament. I showed it to my son, and when he saw it was a bit under ten minutes long he assumed it was the tournament highlights. Nope - it was the entirety of every match, including walking on the mat, shaking hands with the other coaches, etc. No cuts.

And half of that was his 3:43 tech of Desanto in the finals.
