Apple Has Threatened to Pull Twitter From App Store, Musk Claims

Maybe if the USA enforced anti trust laws again. You'd have a point. Unfortunately all of that has been tossed to the curb. In the race to the bottom.
Oh, I wish we would enforce those laws. Plenty of businesses should be busted up. Banking industry, agribusiness, tech sector, and on and on.

I don't think you understand the internet very well. You don't need an app to do things. A good responsive web site will allow you to do many of the same things. It's not like these companies are restricting which web sites can be accessed.
Right, if Safari blacklisted Twitter or wouldn’t allow Twitter posts to appear on other sites, I’d be onboard with going after Apple.

You are being obtuse. A huge chunk of accessing the internet is done via smart phone using apps. There are basically two gatekeepers there, Apple and Google. I threw in Amazon because of the popularity of Fire tablets but I'm almost positive Amazon doesn't make a phone.

When it comes to apps those are the three stores, unless you know how to put an app on your phone straight from a website. I know it can be done but don't know how to do it. Plus, I think it voids the user agreement you have with Apple or Google if you load outside apps on your phone.

Face it, those two companies have a large say on the control of the public square that is the internet.

You do it the same as any other computer. Go to your internet browser and type in Twitter.com. It’s not that hard…

Yeah, I know you can do that but it sucks doing it that way.
So create a shortcut on your homescreen. You can make an awesome web app. You don’t need a native app to access the internet or its content. See, porn or HORT, but never together.

A huge chunk is done using a web browser. You keep using the phrase "gatekeeper of the Internet" and that's just not true. As long as someone has a browser, they can access what they need. If twitter doesn't have a good web browser UX then that's on them. If you've ever used Amazon before, the web interface is just like the app interface, so you don't need the app.

Your problem is you don't seem to understand how the Internet and all the devices work together. Abby is confused as well, he/she thinks that twitter owns the platform. You people need to educate yourselves so you can fully understand so you're not making false claims and drawing false conclusions. All you do is come off as looking uneducated and ignorant.

Okay, so for a website to thrive it needs traffic. Take away the avenues of traffic and what happens? Sure, it still exists but blocking an app from an app store is like taking a site from the intersection of I80 (Google) and I35 (Apple) and putting them out out on County Road 38.

You all don't see that as an issue? Ok then.

Jesus this is an overreaction. Twitter would still be available to anyone and everyone in the country even if Apple/Google decide to remove it from their app store.

It takes 2 seconds to open up twitter using the app and 10 seconds to open it up using the browser on your phone.

It'd would be like if they changed the speed limit from 55 to 54 there's no noticeable difference in accessibility.

Again, You don’t understand the Internet and how it works. It’s a simple tweet, you don’t need an app. The internet is just as fast whether you’re using an app or a web browser. You’re just not smart enough to understand the concepts. I post on here using a browser on my phone, I don’t need an app.

Advertising was already leaving in droves from Twitter. I don't think the traffic is relevant at present. Also, were people expecting a big influx in Twitter accounts? Aren't to the point you are either going to use the platform or you aren't? Maybe the younger folks? I don't see my kids generation using Twitter
