Are we back?

No I said before the game I expected Iowa to win. Michigan doesn't do anything that gives Iowa problems. They don't play physical, they aren't a good rebounding team and they are pretty poor defensively overall. I do the think the NCAA tournament will help this team from a scouting stand point. I think they'll have some success in the NCAA tournament because teams aren't as familiar with them.

Agree ... They gave JU space and were not physical with him and he goes off. That's not what everyone else has been doing down the stretch. We go as JU goes.

To succeed in the NCAA, we'll need to avoid physical teams who muddy up the game.

All about match ups. Good to get some mojo back though.

Much better effort tonight by the team as a whole. Still we had some DUH moments and our defense is still a little slow in the zone. We are lucky Michigan couldn't hit their 3's tonight. The zone is getting over extended and our guys are slow to rotate back. The other thing I saw tonight was our rebounding still needs some work, saw multiple times guys just standing and watching, need to get in their and get boards.

The positives from tonight are we won on the road in a hostile environment on a emotional senior night. Untoff is back and Woody showed signs of life on the offensive side. In the second half our offense got into a rhythm and we shared the ball and moved it well.

Overall a good win on the road against a decent team to build on towards the tourney. It would be nice to get a few wins in the Big Tourney and maybe move back upto a 4 seed.

We still left a lot of plays and posessions out there. Not getting to enough loose balls, missed FTs, lack of rebounding, consecutive TO's just as we were trying to get the lead to 20 and they flat out missed some wide open 3 balls that I cannot say was good D.

Super happy for the much, much, much needed W and the guys did some good things tonight but there are still issues there.

My hope is the W though will bring some confidence back.

Michigan may have missed some open shots, but they also made several with a hand in their face.

If Uthoff averages 29ppg the rest of the games, we are back.

MIchigan shot putrid and they had a lot of open 3ball looks. Can't say our defense is anything special.

I am super happy the Hawks got a win tonight. But let's be real - they beat a team that is not going to the tourney unless they do something unexpected in the conference tournament. There was a time when Uthoff could have a quiet game and the Hawks would win by double digits. I wouldn't bet on that happening right now. Iowa's tournament run will be tied directly to any run that Jarrod has.

We need Jok to do what he does best and that is shoot! If he drives the lane it's a turnover 75% of the time. Other times he is just too nonchalant to get on the floor, bend down or box out. Long way from a complete player but he has another year. Hard to go too far with one player who can score. ( Uthoff )

Agree with what a lot are saying in here. Far from back, but a much needed win that could help build some momentum. It only takes a little confidence for a group like this for things to start snowballing.

With that said. We should all be happy that a not very good michigan team couldn't hit a broad side of a barn last night. They drain some of those open 3 s and it is a whole new ball game in the last 2 minutes. Offense showed signs of being back, defense needs to get better ASAP.

The guard play against the 1-3-1 zone was pathetic for a group of seniors with 4 years playing experience. Belein made a mistake going away from it for a short stretch and it may have cost him the game. Not close to being back yet.

Still disappointed that Iowa had their destiny in their own hands and couldn't come up with the big wins. Most disappointing was the losses to PSU and OSU. Whether the Hawks r back after Michigan win will be determined in the Big 10 tournament. I think pressure got to Iowa towards the end of league play. With one and done in the up coming tournaments, the pressure will be as great or greater. Iowa has yet proven to me that they can deal with that kind of pressure and win.

Uthoff was back, but Iowa's bench, especially Dom, needs to play a lot tougher, or Iowa is going to struggle maintaining momentum when the starters rest.
