Arrogance, Moral Superiority, False Narratives

Na. You're just a hateful piece of shit. People like you are the reason the country told y'all to go fvck yourselves.
I believe in law and order. You don't. You vote for a fraud, a felon, a rapist, a pedophile, and a fascist. All in the same person. Why shouldn't I hate a vile, evil ass licker like you?

The Democrats should look inside to determine whether the more leftist, partisan and progressive members of their Party is really the voice they need to run with for a winning message.
For sure, moving to the right like they did to try to gain alienated republican voters clearly didn't work. People care about policy - things that address the issues they are facing. The repeated strategy of the DNC to attempt to reach across the aisle is a failed one.

This is the real question. Will they double down on things that appeal to the far left base or will they nominate a centrist. The Democratic Party is awash with reasonable center / center left leaders like Shapiro, like Beshear. I honestly believe either of them win in a landslide. Instead they picked an obviously mediocre progressive candidate who tried to redefine herself as a moderate but failed to convince the electorate.

Because the primaries favor extreme positions I wonder if they can do it?
Double down on what that will appeal to the far left? Please, tell me what things she championed are far left ideas. She is the very definition of a centrist. Liz Cheney? LOL gtfo

I actually don't think this matter much at all. Rs call Ds commies, marxists, loonies, tree huggers, men haters, etc. It's the margins that mattered.

In the margins is where Carville coined the phrase "its the economy, stupid." Though the Biden admin did a good job achieving a soft landing they held inflation too high for too long which cost the regular guy too much month to month and they were tired of it. They don't care about a soft landing... they care about living month to month. Biden was blamed for this and Harris stated she wouldn't have done anything different putting her on the Titanic with Biden.

At the end of the day... it’s the economy stupid... and not the state of it, but how real people on main street feel about it.
I think you nailed it. People living paycheck to paycheck can’t see past the simple fact their money isn’t worth nearly what it was 4 years ago. Covid fvcked the economy. The world economy shut down over night and tons of money was given out. Financial security is king, and a huge percentage of Americans have little to none.

Agreed. That Kamala even came as close as she did is a testament to the "beatability" of Trump. The only thing that the Dem's could have done even worse strategically would have been to let Biden stand as the 2024 POTUS candidate. I think it is clear that KH made this a much closer race than it would have otherwise been, due in very large part to her simply, "not being Trump" and being in possession of her faculties.

But that being said...she was an incredibly weak candidate and had no business as the Dem standard bearer in a POTUS election. Lest you doubt that, please review her actual performance as a candidate for the Dem nomination in 2019/20...she didn't move the needle at all...with fellow Dems.

But the exceedingly dangerous "strategy" of trying run it back in 2024 with a badly flagging Biden went awry and there weren't a lot of good choices...at that stage. The real Dem F-up(s) were forging ahead with the "Hiden Biden" gag and then not having a good fall back plan if that jig came up, which it did.

Additionally, imagine if the Dems had selected a good candidate for VP in 2020...they almost for sure would have won the 2024 election yesterday, even assuming the Biden dropout, etc. I am not pleased with the outcome of the POTUS election, but it is also true that I would not have been pleased had KH won. (Can we please get some viable, decent candidates for the next POTUS run off?) But the Dems have only themselves to blame here.
Fair statement and presented without name calling. Thank you.

You just don’t get it, do you?

People voted their wallet. At the end of the day, that’s what it was about for most people. Yes, it is sad that most Americans don’t care about the character of their president, but economic insecurity has a funny way of doing that.
I agree, and what's ironic is that almost all of these people that are most affected by the economy will still be living paycheck to paycheck in four years.

Evidently the truth hurts so much they prefer to be a 3rd world country.
You see a lot of this kind of attitude from the celebrities and MSM who are trying to reconcile their words and actions with the loss.

They'll eventually realize they were lied to, but it might take a few years of not being out in camps for their views.

Nah Trump appealing to the Joe Rogans of the world is what cost us this election. DonOld went after the dumbest, more racist people in this country, and it paid off.

If that's what it takes to win elections these days then I'm fine with the Dems refusing to adapt
Dems lost this election on their desire to kill babies at all stages of development, Transgender bull shit and subjecting our women and little girls to dressing, showering and competing with males masquerading as females. Democratic party has become a freak show. Abortion and labeling everyone who disagrees with their bullshit as racist was their total election campaign. So now 40-50% of Hispanics and 25% of Black males are racist too.

If what Trump wants to do goes through, and there’s no reason to think it won’t, then average people are going to be hit even harder by inflation. Slapping 20% tariffs on Chinese imports and eliminating a sizable chunk of the American workforce are going to cause prices to skyrocket.

But I bet the average worker will see a $30 increase in their paychecks, so I am sure it will be money well spent.

It's certainly part of it. There are plenty of men out there (and more than a few women) who don't believe that a woman is fit to be president.

With that said, she was a shitty candidate who made some really dumb unforced errors that probably cost her the election. From picking goofy Walz as running mate to allowing herself to be tied as closely as possible to an unpopular president, she sealed her fate.

With that said she's never even the candidate if the Dems ran a primary. I'm still of the opinion that if the Dems ran Shapiro or Kelly they win in a landslide by running centrist candidates who weren't saddled with the border or trans issues.
Is calling men names sexist? How about white people?

And your stance on “desire to kill babies” isn’t a labeling on your part?

I think this point was made very clear Tuesday. "Kitchen Table issues" are priority over whatever stance is out there. Gas too much? Eggs cost a lot? Will month's mortgage be paid? I doubt Billy-Joe from Argyle is gunna give a damn over abortion rights if he has trouble paying things.

They're dumb as fuq on what the economy does, but doesn't matter as they see it through a current view. Donald, through his lies and BS, talked about it and made sense to them. Kamala, making it complicated, didn't. That's what was shown Tuesday and now we'll have even higher egg, gas, rent prices because of it.

💯 spot on.

Democrats are horrible at messaging. Not once did I hear Kamala acknowledge the impact of inflation and explain how the entire world has been affected worse then try to prop up “Bidenomics” as the reason inflation wasn’t worse in America. She then could have drawn on the fears average people are experiencing by explaining how she is going to continue making progress and how Trump’s tariff plan etc. would actually make things worse for them.

But, instead, they decided to prop up Bidenomics as being so great and how everyone struggling should just be grateful for it. It was incredibly stupid and for a party that used to appeal to working people it’s head scratching Dems continue to trip over themselves on what should be a slam dunk for them.

Lie and make up shit 24/7? I'll pass on the game.
Can't bring a knife to a gunfight either. People will believe what they are told, regardless of it's veracity. Traditional norms have no place in an election where you're competing against a shameless narcissist who will say anything and everything to get elected.

Trump is not liked by a large portion of the population because of character issues. Turns out that a larger portion of the population thinks that the hateful superlefties are even worse. This board is a good example of why. Dumbest bunch of hateful MFers I've ever had the displeasure of listening to.
yeah, if you come here and read many of the superlefties, it is not difficult to see why many are not aligned with them. They are their own worst enemy, but, they will never really understand it

Yep this is spot on. Dems have some work to do internally. Have to run a populist candidate.

Biden campaigned on

Student Loan forgiveness & free community College
Universal Pre-K
A climate change plan based on the green new deal
Expanding ObamaCare
Codifying Roe v Wade
Protecting Voting rights
Lgbtq rights
Criminal justice reform.

Those maybe centrist proposals in normal countries but they aren't in America.

All of those are left ideas and don't really get much traction with the people that Trump won over to win the election.

Executive orders to spend billions on things that don't impact the working class, does really inspire them to vote for you.

I am sure you will disagree, but, seems pretty clear based on this election
