At least the women’s b-ball team is worth watching.

the women’s b-ball team....

Our YMCA level men’s team...

Apparently a misogynistic as well as random internet blowhard.

Our YMCA level men’s team is not.
A few months ago poor Roy suffered a serious brain injury during a racing event. Cut the man some slack...

Man, Clark is fun but it's not just her!

Czanano just dominates the post. If my daughter is a post player, I'm sending her to Iowa to work with Jan Jensen. She has so many tools in the tool box. It is so impressive.

Kate Martin is so underrated. I know I have been hard on her last year but she has hit some clutch 3s and had a monster block in the 4th. She is our glue girl.

Hannah Stuelke is going to be the next great post. She almost had a double double tonight. She's really coming along well.

Warnock has hit some clutch 3s and shoots pretty well from the outside. I thought we would be in trouble without her tonight but it appeared not. Molly Davis filled in well.

The team is fun to watch. The passes that Clark can give are phenomenal. She has such great vision and will take some risks. I know OSU shot terrible but the Hawks looked like they could beat almost anyone tonight.

Clark had her 8th triple double, which was shown to be 3rd all-time. The leader had 26!

Defensive player of the game IMO was Gabby Marshall who held Mikesell to 12 pts, 5-16 and 2-10 from 3 and one came in the first Q and the last when the game was out of reach for OSU. Two games prior she held PSU's Makenna Marisa to 5 pts on 2-13 shooting and ofer from 3.

So I've noticed something this year related to this topic. When you do a search of Iowa on ESPN it lists out 5 "Iowa" teams; Iowa Football, Iowa State Football, Iowa State Basketball, Iowa Women's Basketball and Iowa State Women's basketball in that order. To find the Iowa Men's basketball team you need to select "All" and then all teams with "Iowa" in their names appear. Iowa men's basketball is sandwiched between Iowa State Women's basketball and Northern Iowa football. I'm not sure what determines the order of things, but I have to believe that public interest is the primary driver. Kind of a sad indicator of the overall state of the Iowa men's basketball program and the level of fan support and attention that it receives.

The women were not much fun to watch in the 3rd quarter last night! lol
I enjoy watching the men's team play. Sure I'm frustrated at times but they are fun to watch.

It does seem like the women's team is finding their stride after a few head scratching performances early in the season (granted, two games ago shouldn't have been as close as it was but good experience builder)

That RU win was genuinely impressive. If you can't admit that, it's just silly.
And the Indiana game where the Hawks were down 21 and won was impressive as well. As others have said on this board and elsewhere, a team is never as good as its best game, nor as bad as its worst.

She did do well there. She HAS to be a little more on offense to really be cooking. Two easy shots were missed when OSU made the run.

Type in “shit” and Iowa men’s b-ball comes right up.

Her threes are on and off and she made a nice play getting the rebound and then missed an easy layup. That was a big miss at the time. She's forgiven now.

I think I enjoy watching the women’s team more than the men’s
Why? Is it their better athleticism, or their ball handling skills? Is it the pace of the game, or is it the leaping ability with all of the players skying for rebounds and dunks? Perhaps it's that they shoot a lower field goal percentage than the men, or that they turn the ball over more than the men all why playing with a smaller basketball. Please do tell your reasons for liking it more. Be specific and don't tell me it's because they play the game like it should be played as their assist to turn over ratio is worse than the men's team. If it's because they win, then just say so and then I'll come back and see what you say once Clark leaves.

Its more then just her shooting %. Its the flair she plays with. She has created a fan base, not to mention all the little girls who show up at ALL the areana's to see her play. How many guys here followed the womens team before Clark? I know I didn't, but haven't missed a game thats been on the last 2 years. She is an incredible facilitator passing the ball. Her 28pt, 10 rebound 15 ASSIST triple double game last night on the road vs a #2 ranked team, has only been done one other time, by ANYONE in college basketball man or woman, (D Wade of Marquette), against a top 2 ranked team since 1998 at least. What she is doing is historic, so Yea, I think we should forgive her missing some bombs, or a layup now and then.......
