Broken band of clouds moving south east through the eastern half of the state. Will clear relatively soon. Should be clear most places over night.

FYI: Tasmania is around the same south latitude that Iowa is north latitude.
This solar CM ejection event needs to be memorialized as GeoStormy Daniels....

Periodic drops aren't a big deal. Big storms don't die instantly.
SpaceWeather says St Louis, MO has a 21% chance of "overhead" aurora from this storm...
You're at the same relative latitude as Tasmania was in the south, so I'd get my "good" camera stuff ready...
I rather enjoy storms where I don’t have to worry about my safety.
If you can’t see it take out your phone and take a picture of the northern sky in night mode

Going crazy now south of Iowa City. Fast moving flashing streaks of green and purple. It's well into the southern half of the sky. Incredible.

Very fricken cool! At Blackhawk lake. I forgot how much it moves and changes so fast. Plus the ISS just flew over.
