The hype was he broke the record (short time of measuring this stat) of broken tackles in a season. So, they compared him to the RB's that had previously had the most in CFB. I don't think that should prove he's one of the best backs in the Country it just means he's good.
This defense looks stout against the level of competition we've had. They are still young and inexperienced at key positions. We will find out a lot about the defense in 2 weeks when Iowa plays Wisconsin. We will need an exceptional performance to keep that one close.
Classic example of sports pundits who do very little homework. ISU has been a little bit of a darling since their 8-win season and hype with Campbell. A very easy "I'll swim against the stream with this, go against the traditional big brother and look kind of edgy" type of prediction. They knew nothing about ISU aside from Montgomery.
