B10 may not even have a single team make it to the Sweet 16 this year.

BIG perhaps a bit overrated!?!
I also think the sh!t officiating during the big ten season hurts most of these teams when it comes to tournament time. They don’t get away with the hacking and physicality.
IDK. I've seen games more physical than the B1G and games way tighter than the B1G.
Team had get to pay attention early and see what the zebras temperature is and go with the way it's being called.

Good chance Iowa is the last B1G team standing.

I would go with Michigan to be last team standing from B1G.
If Liver's hadn't gotten hurt, they'd be a final-4 team.

Iowa is only going as far as their 3pt shooting will take them. If they have a 2-20 type game from 3pt line, Iowa defense not good enough to win games. Iowa has roughly 50/50 chance vs Oregon and Kansas, so 25% chance of making it to Elite8 game vs Gonzaga

I would give Iowa about %70 chance to beat Oregon, a little less with Kansas and %25 is about right for the Zags.

Loyola doubled and occasionally tripled the ball and at other times the post. They were able to rotate out as needed and get back on recovery. They really stymied the Illini offense.

We could lose but probably won't. Iowa is Oregon's worst nightmare. They have no one that can guard Luka.

While we could go like 3-20 from three, outside of the Curse, what are the odds? The team average is .388, top in the conference. Three starters shoot over 40% and Jordan is .394. We could get hosed by the officials but Oregon is far more likely to be in deep foul trouble trying to guard the larger players. We're coming in playing well and Oregon hasn't played for almost 10 days.

So of course, the Curse may get us but even there Iowa is due for some luck given all the bad breaks we've had through the last 22 years. It is far more likely, after 22 years, we're back in the Sweet 16.

Having said that there is the Curse.

It’s easy to say now but I truly thought the B10 was way overhyped all year and I think too many coaches and players bought into it. I felt all a long the B12 was much better talent wise——-except for the Clowns!

Illini rolling over and not even trying against Loyola. That leaves Wisconsin to take on Baylor, Rutgers vs Houston, Michigan vs LSU, Maryland vs Alabama and Iowa vs Oregon.

Wisconsin has to play perfect to beat Baylor so most likely a loss, Rutgers has to play lights out to beat a great Houston team, Michigan is lacking depth and LSU is the type of team that can take it to them, Maryland has a huge hill to climb vs Alabama.

That leaves Iowa who has the easiest path to the Sweet 16 from the remaining teams. Problem is, Oregon has a bunch of bouncy athletes that can get hot from 3 and shoot lights out. That is actually a problem though for Iowa, historically Iowa gets torched by teams like this and especially in this situation.
Why not throw it out there and see if it sticks?

Maryland looked good in their first game. UCONN is always a tough out in March, and they beat them straight up. Alabama meanwhile was pushed for most of the game by Iona. I think Maryland has a great shot at the Tide.

Oregon has only played 1 top 25 team this year, and they lost. P12 is having a good tournament but we'll be the best team they've played all year.

Michigan is the weakest #1 seed this year, but should still get past LSU.

I have a slightly different perspective....First, Oregon was the Pac10/12 regular season champ. Second, they are extremely well coached...long time proven track record in both regular season and NCAA tournament games....so, not sure that we have the easiest path.

I do believe that these two teams are bad matchups for the other....I think that whoever executes best, or is able to impose their will for the majority of the game “should” win...but this is a crazy year and could be a very tight and tough game OR a blow out either way.

Why is Oregon a bad matchup? They are literally a mirror of Tyler Cook/Jok's Iowa teams

They remind me of the really good Villanova teams....5 high level athletes that can shoot the 3 and create issues with their defense. Able to shoot over our guys on the perimeter and drive past them....defensively VERY difficult for Garza. Hopefully he makes them pay on the other end getting them in foul trouble and scoring at a high rate.

Illinois lost to a few lesser teams this year by being sloppy with the ball and had one amazing win against a better Michigan team.

Cockburn is terrible dealing with doubles.

It pisses me off that Fran didn't sell out to double him.

I'm not. Then Iowa might have had to play Loyola in the 2nd round! Then again, I'm not happy about having a conference champ as a 7 seed. The seeding looks like a crap shoot this year. How Loyola Chicago was considered no better than UNC, LSU, UW, Clemson, etc., was a shocker to me. But other than obvious seeding misses, there does appear to be a ton of parity this year.

OK fair enough, but I think you are severly discounting the fact everybody on our team can be described the exact same way

I think the committee was to eager to force that matchup that they underseeded Loyola.

Well their high level athletes are all 6’5/6” and JBO, CJ, and Connor (3 of our starters) don’t fit either one or both of those criteria.

Listen, I believe we can win..... but this is a difficult matchup against a very well coached Power 5 conference champion...so it could be a very tough game.

Yeah, that was why, but they should have made Loyola at least a 4 seed in that bracket. They were ranked in the top ten nationally according to KenPom and the NCAA Net. Either Illinois or Loyola was going to get screwed. I'm glad it was Illinois, though. I loved watching them lose.

Agree, its hard to even begin to understand the criteria that had Loyola an 8 seed and Houston a 2.

I was thinking that a lot during the Rutgers game. Loyola looks much better than Houston. In a year like this, especially, the NCAA should have focused more on analytics than regular season results. I think they're going to have to rely on analytics a lot more in future years. Maybe all of the bad seeds and matchups this year will change that.

OK then they don't have a 7 foot player who is the national player of the year.

I seriously don't get why Iowa fans only speak of how "good" oregon. We have the player of the year. We have length. WE did pretty good in our conference and we were ranked 5th to end the year. For the love of god guys Oregon ain't the Runnin' Rebs of 1990

Iowa and UM should have a great chance of winning tomorrow, but I obviously know nothing when it comes to the dance this year.

Screwing up the seeding, just makes for all these upsets that people are going nuts about.
