On February 3, 1988 they scored 77 in a half against Michigan and still lost, 103-120.
That can’t be true.... That would have been under the great Dr Tom’s watch. Back during the great years of Iowa basketball.
You are a veritable Hawkeye encyclopedia!!On February 3, 1988 they scored 77 in a half against Michigan and still lost, 103-120.
Really making yourself look stupid here. Iowa was sweet 16 that year. Iowa will almost have 16 sweet conference losses this season. Way to go fran! That can’t be true.... That would have been under the great Dr Tom’s watch. Back during the great years of Iowa basketball.

Both those teams made the Sweet 16, and there were 7 NBA first round picks playing in the game. Not exactly like last night's Meeting of Disasters.
I think it was 61-26 at half. The second half took forever!Serious question...

AFAIK there is absolutely no video or film of that game whatsoever. A real shame...
I recall saying Dr. Tom's approach to 3 point shot defense was "watch them shoot and hope they miss".Yep I recall Dr Toms teams not playing very good D either and there was some ugly road blow outs.
