It was great to see him NOT get hit much yesterday. Not sure if it was mostly due to a lack of pressure being put on all or a great job by our O line. I think it was a combination of both.

I do think he looked much healthier yesterday and hopefully he continues to heal up at least as much as possible at this point for him.

What he was able to do yesterday is really about all we need from him to be able to do. But if he keeps getting inching along his health, he could really be a threat towards the end

He does well, much better, with straight line running...those quick moves...laterally...tear things up again...it seems...

The way he ran with that bootleg to seal the game was impressive...

Wasn't limping after the game. Ran off the field after talking to TV pumping his fists to the Iowa crowd

My thoughts? He's really not that hurt. The Hawks are sandbagging, and want people to think he's injured. This will add to his legend.
Yep. In fact Doodle has it on good authority from an inside source who cannot currently be contacted due to spotty mountaintop cell service, that not only does CJ Beathard not have a groin injury....but he actually does not even have a groin.

So loosely based, he's Lance Armstrong lite?

Correct.

It has nothing to do with his 'groin'; it is the GIANT pair of balls he has to lug around all over the field that is impeding his play this year....;)

I'd still like to see C.J. connect a bit better on some of the longer passes. I understand why and he does a good job of putting it where the defense usually can't make a play on the ball......but on some of his throws he tends to sail them or puts them too wide when he probably didn't need to, and some of that really is contributed to how he plants and is affected from his injury.

Fortunately, like others have said, if he can continue to stay healthy and not have any setbacks. I think little by little we'll see him regain his form, and perhaps even improve a step or two by the end here.

That 4th qtr, he was hitting some passes he hadn't been hitting earlier in the game, which is great to see. Iowa getting their passing game back on track will really help keep opposing defenses on their heels down the stretch here.

Now if we could just do something about those RB dives between guard and center into a 9-man front..................

Agree on the injury affecting long throws. I really wish he had a healthy Jake Duzey to throw to, He would really be a nice additional weapon to have at C.J.'s disposal.

Well, he did hit Jerminic Smith in the hands, literally, on a long ball yesterday. Unfortunately, Jerminic hadn't even turned around to look for a pass so it was dropped.

That ball was a little behind him, but yeah if Smith turns around a second earlier he probably adjusts to make the catch and runs into the endzone.

I'd have to watch that play to see if C.J. maybe threw it a little earlier than he wanted to, or if Jerminic was actually late on turning around because he did turn his head right before the ball hit him in the hand. It's either that or Smith wasn't expecting to get the ball on that play....

I think Jerminic is going to be the best WR the Hawks have had but right now he is still in the depths of a large learning curve. By this time next year, the sky will be the limit for this exciting young player.

Agreed. Then next year, some of the others that are in the wings right now will get some experience just like Jerminic is. It's a good for long term depth. I think there are some real play makers in the pipeline both on campus and incoming

As good as he is he doesn't need a groin.

Bringing up Duzey, remember when we all thought he was going to be full go for the Wisky game? That was six weeks ago. Duzey is special, too bad he can't be a major part of what the Hawks are doing right now. All we here is that he is getting there or climbing the ladder. Anything about him actually playing meaningful minutes?

I don't care who you are, that's good work right there.
