*****Bennett Stirtz & Isaia Howard will follow Ben McCollum to Iowa City. Who else will be? 13 of 15 Roster spots filled*****

From what I’ve read with revenue sharing once that judgement case is finally settled. Plan is they’d bring in the big firm Deloitte and schools would have to report any NIL deals over I believe was $600. Be nice to have some more transparency to it all.

there is supposed to be a clearing house that approves these "NIL" deals, verifying whether the deals are fair market value; there's a lot of uncertainty whether that happens or not (players & agents are fighting it; they want it all confidential)

Could this be a possibility based on the Texas Tech/Iowa Asst Coach Barnwell connection?

I guess we will find out.

He would be a nice depth piece that probably wouldn't cost too much.

If we do get Alvaro he's not big enough to bang against b10 centers for 30 minutes. This guy would have a role just because of his size.

It was posted earlier that Rob Reinhart may be a suspect account. I have no idea if that is true or not, but the way this "breaking" story mentions that Alvaro is a "known foreigner", and may not qualify, give me doubts about its authenticity. I think Iowa is smart enough to check to see if he has a valid immigrant status before throwing cash his way. That said, seems like a quality prospect and I would be excited to add him to the team!

yeah, the guy appears to be a troll

what's sad is his account has been verified (it has a blue check mark)

What is sad is that you spend a ton of time perusing X/Twitter info and reposting it on this board without knowing what a blue check mark means.
Fran, since Elon bought Twitter, all you have to do is pay $8 a month to get a blue checkmark. It means nothing. Absolutely nothing.

They do verify the account holder's phone #. ;)

From a quick google search:

On X, a blue checkmark next to an account name indicates that the account has an active subscription to X Premium and meets the platform's eligibility requirements.

Previously, it signified that the account had been verified by X as being authentic and notable, but that system was changed. Now, the blue checkmark is primarily tied to paid subscriptions, offering extra features and a badge of verification.

Eligibility Requirements:
While the subscription is required, accounts must also meet certain criteria to get the blue checkmark, including being active, having a profile picture and name, and
having a verified phone number.

I seen some have posted about the 6'11 big from texas tech.

Eemeli Yahalo also entered the transfer portal from TT. He's a 6'8 player 247 has listed as a SF. I think he's more of a small PF.

But does shoot 3's and rebounds. Didn't get much minutes in his 2 years. And only played 6 games cause of injury last year(MedR?). So either a soph or Jr next year.

Only reason I bring it up is cause both guys are from Finland. Did our new coach recruit them idk.

I'd be happy with the big. We need a big body. But possibly could see Eemeli following 2

great info!

any idea why these Texas Tech players have entered the portal? more playing time (plus more money)?

our new coach, Barnwell, would know them well, that's for sure

i really hope that this complete rebuild of a roster is not an annual thing; i fear it is, and all because of money

Hey thanks fran!!

But no I hear you. This has turned crazy! We've traditionally been sturdy when it comes to holding onto players. That said numbers really took a huge jump this offseason.

I like that we have ben who is all about culture, getting the right people, and having them buy in. That's wone way to counter it.

But this whole process has to be regulated better. This is kinda what I saw happening when it first got announced.

I'll probably get crucified for this but my belief was debt free tuition, free housing, meals, clothes, and gear was enough. But
