Bernie Sanders: I cannot understand the absurdity that it costs 10x as much for insulin in the USA as it does for the same exact drug in Canada

The health of our nations people, physically and mentally, is all a part of our nations security. We must make sure our people can defend our country if we want to secure it. It’s time the education and the well being of our people becomes the priority of this country. We cannot sustain our freedoms as individuals if we do not take care of the whole. Selfishness has been promoted for too long and it has gotten us a nation of lazy, incompetent, and uneducated fvcks that are taking us nowhere.

It literally took one post before someone tried to explain away why drug prices are more in the US than basically anywhere in the world. Our way of doing things in health care is a joke. Bought and paid for politicians doing the bidding of the drug companies for one thing.
Someone should just listen to you as you obviously have all the answers. Let's go full on Marxist and that will make prices lower and quality go up, just ask anyone living in N. Korea or Cuba.;)

Please, just please stop talking about things you don't understand. Look stuff up. Learn. You're kind of a joke on here, and it's basically because you're following grifters and conmen. Stop being the mark.

I think it has something to do with deductibles too. If you use GoodRx or OptumPerks the amount you pay does not count towards your deductible. At least that’s what I was told by the Hy-Vee pharmacist.
Ever so true! However, it does not count towards your Donut Hole numbers either.

You need to keep track of where you are with this metric as well.

I had a monthly copay for a certain drug jump from $47 to 600+ two years back. This happened in August, meaning that my copay was going up by $3318 for 2020. The policy I had was still covering 75% the total.

Bernie spitting facts: his colleagues don’t speak or vote their conscience because they don’t want to piss off their two main sugar daddies…Israel and Pfizer.

Pretty much just whores to the system.

So, we are putting Canada's healthcare system on a pedestal? It seems their citizens don't share that opinion. Wait times for treatment are just one of the contributing factors to the discontentment that forced Trudeau out.

No. Better than ours in key ways, but - as in the US - their conservatives refuse to fund it properly, so there are plenty of ways it could be better.

I think that's Ferengi Republican Rule of Acquisition #3: Underfund programs you don't like and then pretend that the resulting problems are inherent, and not sabotage.

Absent supply and demand driven profits to signal where production and investment are genuinely less than people want, there is no way to ascertain if funding is in fact ‘proper’ in light of demand for PlayStations, potato chips and a few trillion dollars of various and sundry other products and services we want too.

Bureaucrats can spend an allotted budget (money left over is a punishable sin), but they can’t tell you if their product or service is more desired than a different one.

Wait-the conservatives have been in charge of Canada's government? Interesting

Profit-driven free market for games? Sure. For life-saving heath care? Are you nuts?
