Best Buy the latest to warn of price increases

Where's that executive order that lowers inflation again?

It was never about the economy/inflation. That promise was to lure the middle of the aisle voters and it worked. "We never had these problems before!" was a winning message. People believed it.

You know, the people who couldn't give two shits about the fringe issues like trans bathroom choice etc... but cared about how much stuff costs and believed that Trump was the solution? I wonder how those voters will feel in two years when prices don't fall and even worse, if they rise?

The cons will triumphantly defeat their liberal bogeymen and then wonder why they lose in two years and again in four years.

What about shaming the male equivalent of this. The ones who have multiple affairs while married. Or claim to be a pimp?

How is Best Buy still open? I have not been in one for years but if I needed a computer, TV, sound system, etc., I would just order it online. What am I missing?
I use it when I can. I appreciate them having things on hand, and if they are in the same ballpark for price as Amazon or whatever I will reward them for having the bricks and mortar and buy there.

I went in one a couple months ago for a printer. It was crazy in there it was a ghost town and the young kids were not very helpful. I guess they must make all their money online.

Best Buy has a incompetent CEO. The company focus is not aligned with growing its business. Since taking the reigns in 2019 the company moved in a different direction from the CEO that saved the company from bankruptcy.

An investment in Best Buy in 2019 is less today. Hard to pull that off during a bull market going back 8 years. Hopefully the board decides to move on but I highly doubt it, the board is equally incompetent.

Insider trading has always been the tell on what the company financials are. A lot of profit taking in the last 6 months indicate to me that the people in the know are cashing in before its too late.

Their house brand is also 100% sourced from China, (Most name brand electronics have been pivoting away from China production) it was not always like this but they linked their survival to this wagon and now have no short term options to pivot. Will be a case study some day on how to destroy an American company.

They lost 100% of my business along with anyone that would entertain me on influencing them to never buy from them 6 years ago. Guess my boycott is working.

Seems like the board actually has alignment on doing the same. Good bye Best Buy

Seems they're doing OK to me, all things considered? 12 quarters of boosting dividends, sales growth in Q4, pretty sound operationally.

Not sure what NOW means?
"Now" is an adverb that means "at the present time" or "at this moment". It can also mean "very soon" or "in these times". For example, "They are busy now" or "He left just now".

Other definitions of "now":

  • In the time immediately before the present
  • In the time immediately to follow
  • Sometimes
  • Under the present circumstances
  • By this time
    • In view of the fact that
    • Since
    • The present time
    • Of or relating to the present time
"Now" in a phrase:

    • "Now and again" or "now and then" means occasionally or on and off
    • "For now" means for the time being
    • "Now now!" is an exclamation used to rebuke or pacify someone
    • "Now then" is a sentence connector used to preface an important remark

You defined Now and now. not NOW. Stop trying to trick me!

Belem,

How much of your portfolio do you have invested in BBY. Be interested in hearing how you have made out. Also as an expert trader can you give the board some advice when a good time to buy back in to BBY. Personally I got out way before its peak a couple years ago but I also got in under $10 a share (pre splits so under $5) made a sizable gain and moved on, based on watching the fundamentals of this company.

Also being a well spoke poster how do you feel about BBY dropping its DEI initiatives?

Sincerely one of your readers,
CPR

I’m probably a dinosaur, but I actually like to physically look at my “bigger ticket” electronic items b4 making such a purchase. 😳

Now do the stock price and insider trading. I will invest in business models that actually produce returns.
I'm more talking about bby as a going concern vs an investment target. I don't think they'll cease to exist any time soon, but agree I'd put my investment dollars elsewhere
