New QB looked really promising especially under the circumstances. He never really missed any throws, just some were incomplete but still a very good showing.

Only remember one really bad throw, but agreed besides Sully's games vs. NU/WI he appears promising....maybe another Stanzi type?

Sullys first game was better, used his legs and hit his passes well… not taking away from Stratton but Sully is better at this point IMO

I'd like to see Lester open Jackson up to the middle of the field a little bit now that he has that first game out of the way. Get the TE's involved. I know they've been hurt, but this has been an unusually quiet season from that room.

I'm glad we won, but Cade had been going 10/14 for 74 yards in the first half of each of his starts.
This isn't even the best showing by a QB this year.
They're both far better than McNamara. If they both improve before next year they will be in the mix and give us hope that we will have a decent starter next year.

He didn’t really run the ball. Had a chance at one point but tried some awkward shovel pass type thing that was probably his ugliest play of the day. Faster than Cade, but not as fast or nimble as Sullivan. Maybe Stanzi level mobility? Tough to say for sure.
Best in years? I thought Stratton looked fine but he threw all of 14 balls today. I'm not quite ready to go to that level of hyperbole.

yeah i like him. he has no weapons at all to throw to so he can't do very much, but he is calm and puts ball on the money when asked to.
We need to get a top 5 QB that can come in and play next year. I like Sullivan as a back-up and I'm good giving Strat a scholly as our third string.
Iowa fans get stiff any time a guy from the bench completes a pass or runs for a first down. Alex Padilla was the missing piece after a half of football in Evanston and Sullivan was the savior just a few weeks ago.
These guys have come in and done their job, gotten wins, and had their moments, but there's a reason they aren't starting here or anywhere else.
Unfortunately CM12 didn't pan out, hopefully with Lester in the room we can identify and land the guy we need.

Sullys size and running ability really add a unique dimension. Jackson has better arm and more accurate passer.
QB’s are now going to be going for a million a piece. And that’s the lower tier guys. As we now see the top guys are going for 10 mil and it’s going to keep going up. 20 mil for those guys in a couple years. It’s inevitable. The Swarm collective needs to find a way to stream cash into the coffers consistently or Iowa is really fu*ked. This shit is going to get very expensive.
I too wish Sullivan was the starter and McNamara never played, however, Iowa’s defense being on the field all game was 100% the Iowa defense’s fault. They were embarrassing that game. UCLA too.
I think there were some injuries that were not talked about…that became sport as the game wore on..plus they had a “bad night”… Shit happens. But remember it took one helluva field goal for UCLA to win that game. It was a frustrating loss, granted… but not as frustrating as the MSU debacle.
