When I got my first real job after college I had an apartment with a roommate. One night we were watching Sharon host SNL around the time that Basic Instinct was released. I don’t recall what point it was during the show - it might have been the airport security strip search sketch or it might have been the sketch where Farley tried to hit on her in a bar. But I distinctly recall my roommate turning to me and saying very matter-of-factly, “She is sex.”
