I cannot think of any Iowa guys out there that we can get. We will never get anyone at a good program to make a lateral move like the blue bloods can do. So its a matter of taking a chance on a head coach at a lower level program or an assistant at any level program. I hate when these mid majors have 1-2 good seasons (eg FAU) and all of a sudden the coach is deemed to be great

What is Fran's buyout if he doesn't quit. I watched less than 10 minutes of the Purdue game and thankfully I do not get ESPNU. Could be a long winter. Wrestling is down a notch. Women's basketball is the only saving grace.
At one point Fran had LG, KM, KM on the team at one point and failed to win anything of significance.
Did Barta extend Frans contract after we beat Purdue in the conference tourney? If so for how long, and what is the buyout amount? Fran was obviously an improvement over Lickliter but Fran can't win an NCAA tourney ever with his lack of defensive acumen. I have had season tickets for many years and i'm getting tired of having NBA talent and not doing better than 4th in the conference. Does Beth even have the authority to make it a requirement to hire assistant coaches that at least can work with the young men we have. Fran's antics on the sideline is getting old as well with him acting like he's going to attack the official calling the T and assistants holding him back. What a joke. I never saw Dr. Tom doing that when he was the last coach to have any success in the NCAA. The new AD has changes to make and Basketball is the highest priority. Wrestling, Bluder's girls, and Kirk have been at Iowa since well before Barta and hold there own. I'd take the TJO in a heartbeat. He plays NCAA basketball with a lot of defensive pressure and that's why the Big12 is so good. Enough said.
Iowa already has Matt Gatens, but he's not seasoned enough to take over as head coach. I would be really surprised if Dean would be interested in becoming Iowa's head coach, but who knows.
Still may be pissed how Dr. Tom was ejected....
Don't forget the women's wrestling program. Most likely a title in their first year. Iowa is becoming a women's program school.
Barta was such a dipshit, in fb and bb if they would win a big game he was ready to give the coaches a big extension
