BF goes after the replay officals

BS. Forward progress had been stopped. Butler had been driven back three yards by several defenders, THEN they finally pulled the ball out. That was as bogus as it gets. It wasn't even close.

Just as the "holding" calls on Iowa were bogus. If those are holding, then there hasn't been a play in the history of college football that was run without holding.

And yes, the "interception" CLEARLY hit the ground. It was NOT a catch, and I defy any unbiased human with normal eyesight to watch that replay and draw any other conclusion.

If officials don't want to be yelled at and criticized, maybe they should learn the rules of the game, enforce them, and demonstrate some sort of common sense. Oh, and BTW, the officials do get paid. They're not volunteers.

agree on the questionable holding, but not sure what you were watching on the butler fumble. His forward progress was clearly NOT stopped.

What?! Do you know what FORWARD means? You've GOT to be joking...or you're one of those refs.

Not sure what game you guys were watching. First his forward progress wasn't stopped at all. Hell he was still driving forward when he fumbled the ball. Second the whistle blew long after the ball was out. That play wasn't even close to being disputable.

I thought the officiating was terrible. Yes I am a homer, but how can a Ref call holding from the other side of the field 20 yards or so away from the play? Yet I saw Min holding on every down and hardly called for it at all. I am glad Brian is showing such passion

This. In the post game the officials said that the play had been blown dead, but they changed their mind after the replay. That was a new one for me.

Is this for real? Link? I did not hear a whistle prior to the fumble. If true - that there was indeed a whistle blown prior to the ball coming out, but the replay official intentionally ignored that fact - that is worthy of suspension.

Trying to determine if there SHOULD have been a whistle or not is one thing. But to say "yeah, there was a whistle, but it was a little premature so I'm going to pretend like it didn't happen." - seriously?

The interception was also BS. The ball clearly hit the ground, moved in the dude's hands and aided in the catch. To not be able to see that is inexcusable.

Ridiculous the world we live in........who give a sh#& if he dropped some choice words......should be a non story and everyone just needs to chill out about.......words. We get so crushed over words in this day and age........If you don't like it, don't pay attention to it, problem solved. I guess society wants us to be robots now. Sheesh........

On the other hand, the call could have gone either way. I can see making an argument either direction........

Whether the ball came out before or after the whistle is irrelevant.

On the field, they ruled forward progress was stopped and blown dead. That call is NOT reviewable - no matter when they hear the whistle on the replay.

Wrong they stated during the game forward progress being stopped can be reviewed as long as there is a clear recovery, which there was. I am generally a homer and rag on the refs, but I feel they got that one right.

Watching it again the whistle came after the ball was out. This call by the officials was not nearly as egregious as the holding calls that were actually pancakes, and the TJ hold where he shed his man.

Ball was out before the whistle blew. Fumble
the play was blown dead before the ball came out. the replay official had no right to overturn a play that was blown dead that is in the Rule Book. just like that Interception where the ball was used to secure the ball. the officials are supposed to enforce the rules NOT MAKE them up to suit them.

Even replay official on fs1 said he would have overturned int call nose of football clearly made contact with the ground and at least 2 holding calls i thought were very sketchy I do like Brian's passion somebody has to call them guys out on there shitty calls

Officiating was just plan bad last night both ways with the calls and non calls. The crew they had last night must be one of the worst ones the B1G has because clear holds weren't called and non holds were.

Fumble was a fumble if you go by the whistle because he was still moving forward and toward the turf when the ball came out before the whistle. The interception was not an interception. Ground helped the defender collect it.

It is what it is and the Hawks won an ugly game. Brian is Brian and is young so love the passion when he thinks his boys are getting screwed. He has gone off on the officials on the sidelines many of times so I'm sure being in the box upstairs doesn't help him release the rage!

No it was not. The Whistle clearly blows after the ball is out.

Love it.
Guess BF tore into the replay guys before halftime on his way down.
KF not a fan of it but I like the passion.
His Dad criticized him for it; well, maybe he didn't go about it the right way, but I see nothing wrong with a coach ripping on officials when they make indefensible errors.

Bull. They wait until the play is over to blow the whistle. It doesn't happen instantaneously. Butler was being held up by 5 or 6 defenders. The play was over. They never announced what the ruling on the field was, and if they had they would have said progress was stopped and play was over... not reviewable, but they didn't say that and technically it was a fumble if you ignore the judgement call of the progress being stopped. Horse$#it call all the way. Much like the other calls against the Hawks last night.

Just glad we overcame and still won.

Wrong. His forward progress was NEVER stopped until he hit the ground and by that time the ball was clearly out. The whistle was well after the fumble as well. It was a fumble...period.

Isn't it strange how important sportsmanship is to people, but it's normal (and apparently encouraged) to yell and scream at an official?

Why anyone would want to be a ref is beyond me. It's pretty obvious why the officiating talent is so bad.

Exactly right. Look at officials in the high school/Jr. High levels. Most are getting way up there in age and very few young guys/girls are coming in.
