I wrote this a while back and I think it still holds true:
Between the stadium, the pre and post-game atmosphere, the campus and the game itself, they all have pros and cons. But it is always fun to visit a B1G college town and see the Hawks. I won't try to apply exact numbers, but would put them in three tiers:
The Best: Kinnick, OSU, PSU and Wisconsin.
Good: Michigan, MSU, Minnesota and Nebraska.
Not quite as good: NW, Rutgers, Maryland, Indiana, Purdue, Illinois.
