With the season now over half done, I just looked through season stats at bigten.org . Obviously it’s a screwy year with cancelled games and an uneven number and we will know more after tomorrow, but here’s where we are at:

TEAM
4th in scoring offense
11th in total offense
6th in rushing offense
12th in passing offense
3rd in sacks against

3rd in scoring defense
3rd in total defense
3rd in rushing defense
3rd in passing defense
2nd in sacks

2nd in kickoffs
1st in punting
7th in time of possession

INDIVIDUAL

Goodson is 4th in rushing (and Sargent 13th)
Petras is 11th in passing (and 14th out of 14 starters listed in passing efficiency)
Nobody in the top 25 in receiving
Goodson and Duncan are #7 and 8 in scoring, respectively
ISM is 2nd in KO returns and Jones 3rd in punt returns
Taylor is 3rd in punting average ( but leads by a large margin in “punts inside 20”)

THOUGHTS
Defense obviously salty. Consistently #3 across the board ( except #2 in sacks high surprised me)
Offense not bad and efficiently scoring at #4 in scoring while only #11 in total offense.
Special teams are awesome with great performances by Taylor, Duncan, ISM and Jones.
Passing? Big time OOF! Petras bad in total yards and near bottom of big ten in QB rating. This and other factors leading to none of our “stud” WRs even on the board. Only good thing here I guess is pass protection.
