Big Time Onions!! What a WIN!!!!

Clark Kellogg: "Indiana controlled the game for 36 minutes". Give me a friggin break!
That shows what the national basketball world sees in our games. We're a little state with small market and no recent history of great success (Sweet 16s and better). Indiana, although they haven't been great for a long time, are still a Blue Blood whose victory over Iowa was just assumed.

So here's to all the people that picked Iowa 9th or lower and the whole national basketball world of pundits and announcers that create the Blue Bloods and ensure they stay blue bloods, I've got something to say:

**** Indiana and winning is not overrated

Yeah. It just irritated me hearing him say that. Raft was the guy during the game that said they (Iowa) just keep coming after you. It was a game of runs, not domination, as CK would have people to believe.

i guess i don't consider IU a blue blood anymore

I can’t understand no National outrage or push for reform and improvement

with so much money and other things on the line, you would think there would be

i think part of the problem is that these are part time jobs for most officials

and if the pay and working conditions were better, maybe it would attract more and better candidates?

I see a lot of people saying this but it’s not the Big Ten title game. The conference champion has already been decided. This was a great win and conference tournaments are fun but let’s admit that they are probably pointless and unnecessary.

If you view it as pointless, unnecessary, then why watch?

Iowa will have more B1G wins than either Illini or Wisconsin if Iowa wins BTT.

Since the conference season is no longer Round Robin, it has lost some meaning because in any given year, some teams will have inside track due to scheduling. The other issue is home court advantage which is also is a ref whistle advantage-- that is not a level field either. Even the BTT is not fully neutral, since Indian and Purdue fans have easy transit.

Winning BTT is awesome accomplishment.....just getting to title game is pretty good in itself. Winning the title or doing well has a lot of meaning for NCAA tourney...it is automatic bid to NCAA and a team like Indiana went from Bubble to IN. Rutgers and Michigan went from In to Bubble and maybe out.

i remember back in 2001 and 2006 Iowa fans were not that impressed with Iowa winning a BTT Championship; they argued that the regular season championship is all that mattered

It seems that way of thinking has changed a bit. The conference championships definitely matter to the players; just look at their faces as the confetti falls from the rafters.
