BIG

I know Fran likes to play cupcakes in non conference games, but I'd love to see some regional matchups with the following teams playing home & away:

Notre Dame
Marquette
Creighton
DePaul
Missouri

Easy games for fans to travel to.
My guess is none of them would ever agree. Not sure Iowa would either. The more likely scenario is what we're seeing this year in Sioux Falls, KC, or Moline. The only time Iowa got schools of that caliber recently in Iowa City was during the Gavitt Games or ACC/Big Ten challenge which are both defunct.

Illinois hasn't won a non-conference road game since 2020.

No question they've performed better than Iowa over the last few years but Underwood talks about that program like it's Duke West. It's a joke.
Dang. That’s wild! In that same time, Purdue didn’t lose a non con game until Marquette. It’s wild how they think they are the class of the big ten. Like, they act like they just clean house every year. It’s funny.

They do clean house every year.

Most of their players transfer every year, and Underwood gets rid of the ones who don't.

Painter doesn't have to replace his entire team every year. There's a lot to be said for that.

I have hated Illannoy since the Lou Doo days, but Underwood schedules games against the very top teams in pre-B1G, preparing them for conference play. They also have some cupcakes.

Creighton would be the most logical quality team to schedule home-home with, but a game in Sioux Falls or Moline might also work.

What early continuity for Purdue? They have two guards that played big minutes last year and TKR who was a 6 and 4 guy. Everyone else played a minor role, no role, or is a freshman. For a team replacing a two time national player of the year, Jones, and Gillis. What if this team is just good because a Painter is a great coach?
Interesting concept
