Bob Dole: "Nobody likes Ted Cruz"

Who cares what bob Dole thinks. He was a worthless republican.

I am not sticking up for Cruz, but it is interesting to me that he is getting dumped on pretty good in just the past couple of days by multiple R's. That actually makes me a little more interested in him, oddly. It is also a bit ironic for Mr. Dole to call someone out for not being very likable, I don't remember him as Mr. Congeniality or Mr. Popular back in his day.

Everyone is getting pretty wound up now...on both sides.

Bob dole was very well liked by both parties when he was in the senate

Dems love the idea 'everyone!' hates Cruz.

You're too stupid to understand why R are coming out against Ted...and at the same time now jumping on the Trump bandwagon (which they used to hate...but now love?). They hate him not because he's a jerk...but because he doesn't buy into their bullshit and does what he says. The most dangerous person in DC right now is anyone who actually has convictions and sticks to them. Now I'm not going to pretend that there aren't cases...distorted or otherwise, that can be made about Cruz in that regard. But by in large he is who he says he is....and has stuck to his guns even against the R party.

I've said this to everyone who's supporting Trump. Ted Cruz is the anti-establishment, conservative, constitutional candidate that 98% of Trump supporters wish / want / hope that Trump really is...but probably wouldn't be if elected. Trump scares me a lot more than Cruz.

They've got off Trump's case because he's evidently made a deal with them....a deal driven not by their love of Trump...but by their fear of Cruz as Ted started pushing up the polls.

Yes, that's "sane" too. We all made a deal with Trump last weekend. He flew us all down to Mar a Lago to sign away our souls.

This.

A lot of people only remember his designated role as hatchet man in the '76 election and the PR onslaught during the Florida debacle. Outside of those times he always seemed like a congenial guy and I was under the impression he was well liked and respected.

And you're a worthless piece of sranje, so what's your point?

Bob Dole was very well liked and respected by both parties, but you wouldn't know that since you're too stupid to understand these things.

Cruz is elective surgery.

Cruz is elective plastic surgery gone wrong.

I admit, I was a bit surprised for multiple people to recall Mr. Dole in such a positive light, as I seem to recall a personality that was seen as more snappy with folks, etc. So, I read up some and sure enough, in the main, he was well regarded by a wide range of people. So that is very valid and I acknowledge that my characterization of him was not entirely correct, nor was it entirely incorrect.

Because it is also true that he had his moments where his temper and/or demeanor led others to think he was rude and churlish, etc. So there is some truth on that side too, but it is probably more correct overall to regard him as a person that worked well with many and earned the respect of a wide variety of people, something that too few do today.

Actually, from all I've heard Dole is a very funny, likable guy in person. He was just a terrible campaigner and came off as grumpy and standoffish in interviews and on the campaign trail. Too bad really, because was and is an outstanding American and a true war hero (at least to anyone other than Donald Trump) who has dedicated his life to serving his country.

Bob Dole was well respected and liked on both sides of the asile. He was a combat wounded veteran who always took a squinty eyed view of military and fiscal adventures. He was refered to many times as the third Senator from Iowa.
