Great career in baseball, always enjoyed his work.RIP in peace . What a funny dude
well shit.
You missed out. He was a big reason I became a Brewers fan while cheating on the White Sox by listening to/watching (local NBC affiliate TV on Sundays) his broadcasts from across the lake.I never listened to him call Brewers games, but I feel like it was always nice to know there was a guy like him out there. What a life he led. Sad day. RIP.
I was surprised to see "heartbroken" used. I think celebrating someone's life who lived to 90 would be more fitting.I didn't know he was still alive.
He was 90 and still calling games everyday just a couple months ago.I didn't know he was still alive.
those commercials were the best. just awesome.Bob's finally on the front row!
RIP
Well casual fans may have thought that. Real baseball fans knew how good he was in the booth. Here's the funny thing about Uecker. Fans think of him as the funny TV guy, the guy from the movies, etc - and think that's all he was.
He actually was an outstanding game caller...all time great. Sure he joked around during games, but he called an excellent "nuts and bolts" broadcaster while mixing in the right amount of storytelling with it.
gives me a sad. My favorite line from any commercial that I still bust out every now and then: "I must be the front row."RIP in peace . What a funny dude
